26 Silent Mode Silent Mode is convenient when you wish to stop the pho ne from making any noise, (in a theater f or example). In Idle mode, press a nd hold the key until the “ Silent Mode On ” message and the Silent Mode icon ( ) di splay . In Silent Mode, inst ead of sounds, your phone vibrates.

If the Keypad tone option is Off, your phone does not transmit the DTMF (Dual T one Multi-Fre quency) tones of the keys, which then allows you to press keys without heari ng annoying key ton es during a call.

46 Te x t M e s s a g e Short Messag e Servic e (SMS) allows you to send and receiv e short text messages to and from other mobile phones. In addition, your phone supports the Enhanced Messaging Ser vice (EMS), whic h enables yo u to include simple graphics, melodies, and animated images in your messages.
Messages 47 Picture Message • Attach : allows you to attach a Namecard, Schedule, Anniversary item, Miscellaneous item, or T ask to your message. • Save to Drafts : save the message to your Phone or SIM card. • Select language : allows you to set the langua ge to English, Français, and Español.
48 A Picture Messaging message is a multimedia presentation cont ained in a single file. It is not a text file with atta chments. Y ou must first retrie ve a picture messa ge from T -Mobile’ s voice mail ser ver before you can view the me ssage. 52 Inbo x The Inbox stores received messa ges. Y o u can tell what kind of messa ge was received by the ic on displayed. If the icon env elope is open then the messa ge was read, otherwise a closed envelope displays.
Messages 53 Inbox • Sort by : allows you to sort messages by Read/Unread, Date, Name, T ype, Size, or Subject. • Lock/Unlock : allows you to protect the message from deletion or unlock the message for deletion. 2. Press the Vie w key to read the message contents.
54 • Save address: allows you to cut and paste the address to send a text message, or picture message. • Save media: allows you to save message media to your Image folder , Sound folder , vCard, or vCalendar . • Delete : allows you to delete the picture message.
Messages 55 Outbox • Lock/Unlock: allows you to protect the mess age from deletion or unlock the message for deletion. • Properties: shows you information about the Voice note, such as date, from, to, Cc, s ize, p riority, and class. Outbox This message box stores unsent messages.

Messages 59 Broadcast Messages (SIM Card Dependent) Send Settings • Delivery report : when this op tion is enable d, the network in forms you whether or not your message was delivered. • Read reply : when this option is enabled, yo ur phone sends a re quest for a reply along with your messa ge to the recipient.

92 Speak clearly when giving your command. There is no need for you to speak slowly or with added emphasis. The voi ce recognitio n software h as been optimized to understand your speech in its natural form. If it does not reco gnize your command after a few seconds, a voic e prompt asks you to repeat t he command.
