If you do not want to use the Wireless feature on the DI-614+, you can disab le it b y selecting Disabled. 12 WEP Key T ype KEYS Wired Equiv alent Protocol (WEP) is a wireless secur ity protocol f or Wir eless Local Ar ea Netw orks (WLA N). WE P prov ides sec urity by encrypting the data that is sent o ver the WLAN. The DI-614+ suppor ts 3 lev els of WEP Encr yption: 64Bit encr yption, 128Bit enc r y ptio n, and 256B it enc r yp tion .

14 Using the Configuration Menu Home > Wireless > WP A-PSK Confirmed Passphrase Enter the P assphrase again to confirm. Wi-Fi Protected Access - Pre-Shared K ey mode means that the wireless client and the router m ust hav e the same passphrase in order to establish the wireless connection.
15 Using the Configuration Menu Home > WAN Choose WAN T ype WAN stands for Wide Area Network . In this case W AN represents the mode in which y ou connect to the Inter net.
16 Using the Configuration Menu Home > WAN > Dynamic IP Address Most Cable modem users will select this option to obtain an IP Address automatically from their ISP (Inter net Service Provider). Host Name This is optional, but may be required by some ISPs.

23 Home > LAN Using the Configuration Menu Local Domain Name (Optional) The name of your local domain. Subnet Mask The subnet mask of the LAN interf ace. The def ault subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 . IP Address The IP address of the LAN interf ace. The def ault IP address is: 192.
24 Home > DHCP Using the Configuration Menu DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Control Protocol. The DI-614+ has a built-in DHCP ser v er . The DHCP Ser v er will automatically assign an IP address to the computers on the LAN/private network.
25 Advanced > Virtual Server Using the Configuration Menu The DI-614+ can be configured as a vir tual ser v er so that remote users accessing W eb or FTP services via the public IP address can be automatically redirected to local ser v ers in the LAN (Local Area Network).
26 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Applications Some applications require multiple connections, such as Inter net gaming, video conf erencing, and Inter net telephony . These applications hav e difficulties working through NA T (Network Address T ranslation).
27 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Filters > IP Filter Schedule IP Address Enter the IP address range of the computers that y ou w ant the policy to apply to .
28 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Filters > MAC Filters MA C (Media Acc ess Contr ol) Filter s ar e us ed to deny or all ow LAN (Lo cal Area Netw ork) computers from accessing the Internet and networ k b y their MAC address .
29 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Parental Control >URL Blocking Use URL Blocking to den y LAN computers from accessing specific web sites by its URL. A URL is a specially f or matted te xt string that defines a location on the Inter net.
30 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Parental Control > Domain Blocking Use Domain filters to allow or deny computers access to specific Inter net domains whether it is through www , ftp , SNMP , etc.
31 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Firewall Firew all Rules is an advance f eature used to deny or allow tr affic from passing through the de vice. It works in the same wa y as IP Filters with additional settings. Y ou can create more detailed rules for the de vice.

33 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > DMZ If you ha ve a computer that cannot run Internet applications proper ly from behind the DI-614+, then you can allo w that computer to hav e unrestricted Inter net access. Enter the IP address of that computer as a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) host with unrestr icted Internet access .
34 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Performance Beacon Interval Beacons are packets sent by an Access P oint to synchronize a wireless network. Specify a v alue. 100 is the def ault setting and is recommended. TX Rates Select the data rate .
35 Using the Configuration Menu Advanced > Performance (Continued) SSID Broadcast Enabled is the default setting. Choose Enab led to broadcast the SSID across the network. All devices on a network must share the same SSID (Ser vice Set Identifier) to establish communication.
