4 Y our New W ashing Machine Y our new washing machine, fitted with the Zanussi “JET SYSTEM”, meets all moder n requir ements for ef fective treatment of laundry with low water , energy and deter gent consumption.
5 Description of the Appliance 1 Detergent dispenser drawer 2 Control panel 3 Door locked light 4 Door opening handle 5 Filter 6 Adjustable feet Door lock ed light It stays on during the whole programme indicating that the door is locked. When the light goes out, the door can be opened (see page 12).
1 ON/OFF button Press this button to switch the washing machine on. The display (8) will show three blinking dashes or a blinking zero. Y ou will find more detailed explanations on pages 7-8 (see “DISPLA Y”). Press the ON/OFF button again to switch the machine off.
7 • Draining and spin: - Press the ST AR T/P AUSE button. The machine will drain the water , then spin the laundry at the maximum speed provided for the selected programme. - Select spin speed by means of button 5, and press the ST AR T/P AUSE button.
8 • Duration of washing programme in hours and minutes, after you have selected a programme. While the programme is running (after you have pressed the ST AR T/P AUSE button), the displayed time value decreases by one unit every minute.
9 Selecting a special programme: A wash programme must be selected in the normal way . (ST AR T button not pressed) The SKIP button is then used to cancel or advance the programme to the required phase. The SKIP button can only operate when the programme is in pause.
10 Important! The door will be locked throughout the delay time (DOOR LOCKED light lit). If you need to open the door , you must first set the washing machine to P AUSE by pressing the ST AR T/P AUSE button. After you have closed the door , press the ST AR T/P AUSE button again.
11 Operating Sequence Before the first wash, we recommend that you run a cotton cycle at 60°C, without any laundry in the machine, to remove any manufacturing residue from the drum and tub. Pour 1/2 a measure of detergent into the dispenser drawer and start the machine.
12 6. Select the temper atur e Press the TEMPERA TURE button if you wish to select a temperature value different from the one proposed by the washing machine.
13 12. Ho w to change a pr ogr amme during its cycle Before you make any change, you must pause the washing machine by pressing the ST AR T/P AUSE button. It is possible to change any phase before the programme carries it out. Changing the type of fabric or temperature is possible, obviously , only during the washing phase.
14 W ashing Hints Do NOT overload the machine. W eigh the laundry the first few times you use the appliance. The average weights of the most common items are listed below as a guide: 1000g = 1 kg Shee.
15 And in which f orm? Not only are there different types of deter gent, but they are also available in different forms. Whether you chose a powder or liquid in traditional or compact form is your own personal choice. TRADITIONAL POWDERS Pour the powder directly into the dispenser drawer .
16 W ash Car e Symbols W ash care labels inside garments recommend how to launder your clothes with the best results. The care labelling code is in line with care labelling used in the rest of Europe. The symbols used make it easy to select the correct programme on your washing machine.
17 W ashing pr ogrammes The “coloured cotton programme” at 60°C is the reference programme for the data entered in the energy label, in compliance with EEC 92/75 standards.
18 Maintenance and Cleaning Before any maintenance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNECT the appliance from the electricity supply . Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.
19 Release the emergency emptying hose, place it in the container , and remove its cap by unscrewing it. When no more water comes out, unscrew the filter and remove it. Clean the filter under a running tap, then refit it, screwing it fully in. Put the cap back on the emergency emptying hose, place the latter back in its seat.
20 Something Not W orking Certain problems ar e due to lack of simple maintenance or oversights, which can be solved easily without calling out an engineer . Before contacting your local Service For ce Centr e, please carry out the checks listed below .
21 Symptom The door will not open Possible causes ● The water level is above the bottom edge of the door . ● The machine is heating the water . ● The drum is turning.
22 Guarantee Conditions Standar d guar antee conditions W e, Zanussi Electrolux, undertake that if, within 12 months of the date of the purchase, this ZANUSSI ELECTROLUX appliance or any part thereof .
23 Installation Instructions T echnical Specifications It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way . Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
24 Unpacking All transit bolts and packing must be removed before using the appliance. Y ou are advised to keep all the packaging for re-use in case the machine is to be transported again. Using a spanner unscrew and remove the two rear bottom screws.
25 W ater inlet Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thread. Do not use, for connection, old hoses that have been used for another appliance. Installation should comply with local water authority and building regulations’ requirements. The appliance must be connected to a cold water supply .
26 An additional drain hose and joining piece is available from your local Service Force Centre. The joining piece must have an internal diameter of 18mm. If you intend the drain hose to empty into a sink, make sure that the sink is empty and the plug hole is not blocked.
27 Electrical connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. W ARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EAR THED. The manufacturer declines any liability should this safety measure not be observed.
