SPEAKER SETUP 11 PREP ARA TION The spea ker layo ut belo w shows the st andard ITU- R * speaker setting. Y ou can use it to enjoy CI NEMA DSP and mul ti-channel audio sour ces. * ITU- R is the radio com munic ation secto r of the ITU (Inter national T eleco mmunica tion Unio n).
12 SPEAKER SETUP Be sure to connect the left channel (L), right channel (R), “+” (red) and “– ” (black) properly . If the connections are faulty , no soun d will be heard fro m the spea kers, and if the polarity of the spe aker connec tions is in correct, the sound will be unnat ural and lack bass.
13 SPEAKER SETUP PREP ARA TION ■ FRONT terminals Connect one or two speaker syst ems (2, 3) to the se term inals. If you use on ly one speaker sy stem, connect i t to the FRONT A or B terminals. ■ CENTER terminals Connect a cen ter speaker (4) to these terminals.

33 PLAYBACK BASIC OPERA TION • When playing a DTS-CD/L D, be sure to set the IMPUT MODE to DTS. • I f the digita l output da ta of the playe r has been processed i n any way , you may not be able to perform DTS deco ding even if yo u make a digital co nnection be tween thi s unit and the player depen ding on t he player.
FM/AM TUNING 34 There are 2 tun ing method s; automat ic and manual . Automatic tuning is effectiv e when station si gnals are strong and there is no interferenc e. ■ Automatic tuning 1 Rota te INPUT to s elect TUNER as the inp ut source. 2 Press FM/AM to s elect the rec eption ba nd.
