F or the best results, please read this manual through carefully as it is yo ur guide through the control menus and operation.

Y o ur room la yout or personal preferenc e w ill dict ate whic h installation locat ion y ou select.

14 Positioning your projector English Pr ojection dimensions Installation for a 16:9 ratio screen The screen aspect ratio is 16:9 and the projected pictur e is 16:9 The above numbers are approxim ate and may be slightly different from the actual measurements.

16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift control pr ovides flexibilit y for installi ng your projector . It a llows the projector to b e positioned off the cent er of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p erc entage of the projected i mage height or w idth.
17 Connecting with video equipment English Co nnecting w ith v ideo equipment Y o u can connect the projector to any typ e of video equipment, such as a V CR, DVD player , dig ital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , v ideo game console or digi tal camera.

19 Connecting with video equipment English Connecting a c ompute r Connect the p rojecto r to a compu ter with a V GA cable. Many laptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a pro jector . Usually a key combination like Fn + F3 o r CRT/LCD key turns the external display o n/off.

If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable into the A C i nlet on the rear o f the projector . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer outlet and turn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sourc e The projec tor can be connec ted to multiple equipment at t he same time. When the projector is first turn ed on, it w ill attem pt to recon nec t with the input source which was in use w hen the projector was last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and s ettings. Below is the ov erv iew of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD menu to y our fam iliar language.
23 Using the projector English U tilizing the password function For security pu rposes and to help prevent unauthorized use, the projector includes an option for setting up password security . The password can be set throug h the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menu.
24 Using the projector English Entering the password r ecall procedure 1. Mak e sure the Input P a sswo rd page is displaye d on screen. Pr ess and hold PR ESET MODE on the pr ojecto r or MODE on the remote control for 3 sec onds. The projector will display a coded number on the screen.
25 Using the projector English A djusting the pr ojected image A djusting the projection angle There are four adjuster feet on the bottom of the projector . These can be us ed if neces sar y to chan ge th e proj ec ti on ang le. Screw the feet in or out as appropriate to aim and le v el the projec tion angle.
26 Using the projector English Correcting picture dist or tion K eystoning occurs w hen the projector is not perpendicular to the screen and is where the projected p icture displays visible as a trap ez oid shape like either of the following: • T wo par allel sides (left and right, or top and bottom) but is noticeably wider on either side.
27 Using the projector English U sing the pr eset and user modes Selecting a preset mode The projector is preset w ith several pre-defined pic ture modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input sourc e picture type.
28 Using the projector English Setting the U ser 1/U ser 2 mode There are two user -definable modes if the current avai lable picture modes are not suitable for y our ne ed. Y o u can use one of the picture modes (exc ept the se lected U ser mode) as a starting p oint and customize the settings.
29 Using the projector English Fine-tuning the picture quality No matter what picture mode you have selected, you are able to fine-tune those s ettings to fit ever y presentation purp ose. Those adjust ments will b e sav ed to the preset m ode you are at when you exit the OSD menu.
30 Using the projector English A dvanced pictur e qualit y c ontrols There are more advanc ed funct ions in the Picture -- A dvanced menu to be adjusted to your preference. T o sav e the settings, just pr ess MENU on the proj ector or MENU/EXIT on the remote control to leav e the OSD menu.

High ligh t Color T emp erature and select Us er 1 , Us e r 2 , or Us e r 3 by pressing / on the projector or r emote control. 2. 32 Using the projector English Color Management In most installation situations, color management wil l not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lig hts re main on, or where building external windows allow daylight into the room.
33 Using the projector English Setting 3D Comb Filter This feature separates composite sign al to Y (brightness) sig nal and C (color) signal, and can help produce clear er and shar per images with cor rect colo rs in pla ce.
34 Using the projector English 3. Letter B o x ( LB ): Scales a pictur e to fit the projector’ s nativ e resolution in its hori zontal width and resize the picture’ s height to the 3/4 of the projection w idth.
35 Using the projector English Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , you can use BLANK on the remote control to hide th e screen image. The word " BLANK " appears in the corner of the sc r een while the image is hidden.
36 Using the projector English A djusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will hav e an effe ct on the projector speaker(s). Be sure you ha ve made a correct connection to the p r ojector au dio input. See "Connecting with v ideo equipment" on page 17 for how the audio input is connected.
