Operat ion 26 Operation Start up 1. Plug the powe r cord into the p rojector and into a wall socket. T urn on the wall sock et switch (where fitted) . Check that the Pow e r i n d i c a t o r on the proje ctor lig hts ora nge after p ower has been applied.
Operation 27 U tilizing the pow er -on lock function For security purposes and to help preve nt un authorized use, th e project or include s an option for setting up passwor d security . The pa ss word can be set th rou gh the On -Sc ree n Display (OSD) menu.
Operat ion 28 Entering the passwor d recall proc edure Press and hold AU T O on the pr ojector or r emote control for 3 seconds. The pr ojector w ill display a coded number on the screen. W r ite down the number and turn off your projector . Seek help from the local BenQ serv ice cen ter to dec ode the number .
Operation 29 S w itching input signal The pr ojector can be c onnected t o multiple d ev ices at the same time. H owever , it can onl y display one full screen at a time. Please decide i f you want to acti vate the qu ic k auto searc h function by performing the following st eps.
Operat ion 30 A djusting the projected image A djusting the projection angle The projector is equipp ed with 1 quick- release adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. Thes e adjusters change t he image height and proj ection angle. T o adjust the pr ojector: 1.
Operation 31 Correc ting keystone K eystoning refers to the situation where the proj ected imag e is noticeably wider at either the top or bott om. It occurs when the projec tor is not perpendicular to the screen.

T o select a operation mode that suits your need, you can follow one of the following steps.

Maintenance 52 Lamp information Calculation of lamp hour Whe n the proj ector is in operation, the du ration (in hours) of lam p usage is aut omatically calculated by the built-in timer .
Maintenance 53 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, al wa ys turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
