Operating Your Washer To obtain the best washing results, you must operate your washer properly. This section gives you this important information, Page references are included for more information. Starting Your Washer 1. Add measured detergent to the washer.

(OPTIONAL STEP) If your washer has an Extra Rinse Selector, you can set it to On to add an additional rinse to the end of the wash cycle. l Use the extra rinse option when using extra detergent for the Super Wash cycle or any of the following cycles: Regular, Permanent Press, Knits Gentle, or Woollens.
Regular cycle The Regular cycle features the Gentle Wash system and high spin speeds to shorten drying time. l Use NORMAL, 10 to 14 minutes of wash time, to clean cotton and linen fabrics that are moderately to heavily soiled. l Use LIGHT, 6 minutes of wash time, to clean cotton and linen fabrics that are lightly soiled.
Soak cycle (on some models) The Soak cycle features brief periods of agitation and soak time to help remove heavy soils and stains that need pretreatment. l Use warm water when soaking laundry. (Hot water can set stains.) See pages 17-l 9 for stain removal information.
