ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials; do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. N ote: The und ersi de o f th e tre admi ll w alki ng b elt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. H ave a second person hold the B ase (5 2) in th e position shown. Attach six Base Pads (63) (three are shown) to the Base (52) with six Base Pad Screws (26). Identify the Left Upright (53), which has two small holes near the upper end.
8 3. Have a second person lift and hold the front end of th e F ram e ( 51 ). Hold a Frame Spacer (11) be- t ween the Right Upright (54) and the F rame. Attach the Right Upright to the Frame with a F rame Pivot Bolt (1), an Upright Washer (14), and an Upright Star Washer (9).
9 7. Attach the Console Back (73) to the Console Assembly (91) with four Console Back Screws (4). Make sure that no wires are pinched. 7 73 4 4 91 6. Set the Left and Right Handrails (22, 33) and the Console Assembly (91) on the Uprights (53, 54).
11. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex key in a secure place. The hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 18). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
12 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.
HOW TO OPERATE THE CONSOLE 1 . Insert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12. 2. Press the Start button or the Speed increase button to start the walking belt. When either button is pressed, the walking bel t w ill begin to move at 1 mph.
14 Incline Legs Incline Pin I ncline Pin HOW TO CHANGE THE INCLINE OF THE TREAD- MILL To vary the intensity of your exercise, you can change the incline of the treadmill. There are three incline lev- els. Before changing the incline, remove the key a nd unplug the power cord.
15 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE U nplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. 1. Hold the metal frame firmly in the location shown by the arrow at the right.
16 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 . Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Next, lower the frame until it is past the latch pin. Then, release the latch knob.
17 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
18 PROBLEM: The walking belt slows when walked on S OLUTION: a . Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 11. b . If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill perfor- mance may decrease and the walking belt may be- come damaged.
