3 IMPORT ANT PRECAUTIONS 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and switch the reset/off cir- cuit breaker to the off position when the t readmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the circuit breaker.

ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. D o not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 2. Have a second person hold the Base (52) in the position shown. Identify the Left Upright (53) (the Right Upright [ 54] has a large hole near the lower end). Hold the Left Upright (53) so the two small holes for the latch assembly are on top as shown.
8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (11). Open the included packet o f grease, and apply grease to both sides of both Frame Spacers.
8. Remove the plastic ties from the Right Handrail (33) and the Left Handrail (not shown). With the help of a second person, hold the Console As se mb ly (91) near the Right Upright (54). Remove the wire tie from the Wire Harness (39). Connect the Wire Harness to the console wire.
11. Attach the ground wire on the Wire Harness (39) to the indicated hole in the Base (52) with an M4 x 10mm Screw (84). 52 39 Ground Wire 11 84 Hole 10 1 0. Tighten two M8 x 15mm Bolts (8) with two M8 Star Washers (5) into the Uprights (53, 54). See step 9.
1 1 1 1 14. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex keys in a secure place. One hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 20). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
13 ETPF34907 24733 Key Clip CONSOLE DIAGRAM FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
14 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER I MPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- p erature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.
5. Follow your progress with the track and the dis- plays. The track —The track r epresents a distance of 1/4 mile (400 meters). As you walk or run on the tread mill, the indicators aro und t he track will ap- pear in succession until the entire track appears.
16 HOW TO USE A PRESET WORKOUT 1 . Insert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. 2. Select one of the four preset workouts. To select a preset work- out, press the Workouts button repeatedly; “P 1,” “P 2,” “P 3,” “P 4” “P 5,” or “P 6” will appear in the upper display for a few seconds.
17 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM T o play music or audio books through the console’s stereo speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, C D player, or other personal audio player to the con- sole. Locate the audio wire below the display on the console, and plug it into a jack on your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player.
18 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE B efore folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If you do not do this, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
20 Locate the Reed Switch (89) and the Magnet (62) on the left side of the Pulley (71). Turn the Pulley until the M agnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. M ake sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed S witch is about 1/8 in. (3 mm). I f necessary, loosen the M4.
