7 Getting started Connecting accessor ies To connect an accessory • Connect the accesso ry to the base of your phone. Before using yo ur phone Battery The phone battery is partly charged when you receive your phone.

You can use f light mode where mobile phones are prohibi ted, such as in hospitals and air crafts.

21 Calling Calling Networks Network coverage To make or re ceive a phone ca ll your phone must be within range of a network. Home network When you turn your phone on, it automatically selects your home network if it is within range. Roamin g If your home netw ork is not within range, you may use another network that is accepted by y our operator.
22 Calling To set a speed contact (number) 1 From Standby select Main menu > Phone > Speed contacts . 2 Scroll to an empty position and press the Jog Dial. 3 Select a contact in the l ist and select Save . To make a call to a speed contact 1 From Standby press one of the keys 1 to 9 that corresponds to the stored speed contact.
23 Calling Handling two or more calls You can handle multiple calls at the same time: • Put an ongoing call on hold and start a new one, or a nswer an incoming call. • Start a confer ence call during an ongoing cal l (operator-depende nt). • Extract one party in a conference call for a private talk a nd put the conference call on hold.

When you are creating a message , and exit the message bef ore sending it, you w ill be asked if you want to save it. If you select Yes , the message will automatically be st ored in this folder.

Expo sure contro l is automatic and in bad light conditions you can use the camera light. To take a picture or a video clip 1 Press the c amera ke y to activate the camera.
39 Imaging Smart zoom When higher fram e sizes are selec ted, the camera will auto ma tically drop to a lower frame s ize when zoo ming in order to prevent dist ortion of the captured picture.
