3 IMPORT ANT PRECAUTIONS 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 20. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key , unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the power switch.

6 P ART IDENTIFICA TION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly . The number in parentheses below each draw- ing is the key number of the part, from the P ART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly .
7 ASSEMBL Y • Assembly requires two persons. • Placeallpartsinaclearedareaandremovethe packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materialsuntilyounishallassemblysteps. • Theundersideofthewalkingbeltiscoatedwith high-performance lubricant.
8 3. Identify the Left Upright (89), which is marked “Left.” Have a second person hold the Left Upright near the Base (94). See the inset drawing. T ie the wire tie in the Left Upright (89) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81). Then, pull the other end of the wire tie until the Upright Wire is routed through the Left Upright.
9 5. Identify the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (89). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (90). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Slide the Console Base Back (93) onto the Uprights (89, 90).
10 7. Start four #10 x 3/4" Screws (9) with four #10 Star W ashers (32) into the Pulse Bar (1 12) and the Left and Right Handrails (88, 87). Slide the Pulse Bar (1 12) as far in the direc- tion shown as possible, and then tighten the #10 x 3/4" Screws (9).
11 9. Remove the two #8 x 1 1/4" Screws (107) and slide the Left Handrail Cover (79) back about 1 in. The Screws will be reattached in step 16. Note: It is not necessary to move the Left Handrail Insert (84). With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the left handrail assembly (B).
12 12. Set the Console (103) onto the Console Base (64). Make sure none of the wires from the Console are pinched. Attach the Console (103) to the Console Base (64) with six #8 x 1/2" Screws (1). 12 1 1 103 64 1 Wires 1 1 1. Set the console assembly onto the brackets on the Handrails (87).
13 14. Insert the Console Base Back (93) into the hole in the console assembly and onto the top of the indicated bracket. Be careful not to pinch any wires. Tighten two #8 x 1/2" Flat Head Screws (31) into the tray on the Console Base Back (93). 14 Console Assembly 93 Bracket 13.
14 15. T ighten nine #8 x 3/4" Screws (2) into the Console Base Back (93) in the indicated loca- tions, starting with the center Screw . 15 2 2 2 2 2 93 2 2 Start First 16. Slide the Handrail Covers (79, 80) forward until they match up with the Console Base (64).
15 18. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plas- ticonthetreadmilldecals,removetheplastic.Toprotecttheoororcarpet,placeamatunderthetreadmill.
16 HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RA TE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor . Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown. Then, press the end of the sen- sor under the buckle on the chest strap.
17 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO CONNECT THE POWER CORD Use a Surge Suppressor Your treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home’s power. Voltage surges, spikes, and noise interference can result from weather conditions or from other appli- ances being turned on or off.
18 ETS99931 1 (NTL9901 1, 24949) FEA TURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
19 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORT ANT : If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before you turn on the power . If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
20 5. Follow your progress with the displays. As you walk or run on the treadmill, the display can show the following workout information: • Theelapsedtime • .
21 7. T urn on the fan if desired. The fan features several speed settings and an auto mode. When the auto mode is selected, the speed of the fan will automatically increase and decrease as the speed of the walking belt increases and decreases. Press the Manual fan button repeat- edly to select a fan speed or to turn off the fan.
22 Note: The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout. The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on your metabolic rate. In addition, if you manually change the speed or incline of the treadmill during the workout, the number of calories you burn will be affected.
23 When you select an iFit Live workout, the display will show the duration of the workout, the distance you will walk or run, and the approximate number of calories you will burn. The display may also show the name of the workout. If you select a com- petition workout, the display will count down to the beginning of the race.
24 THE INFORMA TION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. T o select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console and then release the Stop button.
25 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, adj us t th e i nc li ne to t he lowest position before you fold the treadmill. Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord . CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs.
26 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assis- tance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. SYMPTOM: The power does not turn on a.
27 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
28 SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on a. If the walking belt is off-center, rstremovethe key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
