Your Phone 9 Key Description (soft keys) Perform s the functions indicated by the text ab ove them, on the bottom line of the displa y . In menu mode: scrolls through the menu options. In idle mode: the Up key activ ates the My Media and the Down k ey enters the Search Contact menu.
Your Phone 10 Display Display Layo ut The display has three areas. (on the le ft side of the phone) During a call: adjusts the earpiece vol ume . In idle mode with the handset open: adjus ts th e k e y v olu m e . In the idle mode with the handse t closed: turns on the external display’ s backlight when held down.
Your Phone 11 Icons Icon Description Shows the receiv ed signal strength. The greater the number of bars, the better the signal. Inform s you which c alli ng mode you are in. • : A call is in progress. • : A call is impossible. • : A video call is in progress.
Your Phone 12 External Display Y our phone has an external display on the folder cover . It indicates when you have an incoming call or message, and alerts y ou at the specified time when you set an alarm. When you hold down one of the vol ume keys, t he external display backlight illuminates.
13 Getting Started Inserting/Removing the SIM Card Y our SI M Card is already loaded with your subscription details, such as your PIN. • K eep SIM cards out o f the reach of small chil- dren. • The SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scratches or bend ing, so be care- ful when handling , inserting, or re moving the card.
Getting Started 14 Removing the SIM Card T o remo ve the SIM card, sl ide the card out of the holder , as shown. Installing/Removing/Charging the Battery Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery . Use only appro ved batteries and chargers.
Getting Started 15 Removing the Batter y 1. If the ph one is on, sw itch it off fi rst by pressing and holding the key until the power-off animation is display ed. 2. T o remove the battery , press and hold the catch above the battery . Lift the battery awa y from the phone.
Getting Started 16 Low Battery In di cato r When the battery is weak and only a few minutes of talk time r emain, the batt ery sensor informs you in the foll owi ng w ays: • An empty battery icon flashes ( ). • Y ou hear a warning tone. • A message is briefly shown on the display .

Selecting Functions and Options Y o u can select differ ent functions and option menus using the two soft keys ( and ). The roles of the soft k eys vary according to the phone feature you're using.
Getting Started 18 T o view the v arious functions and options av a ilab le and to se lect th e on e y ou want : 1. Press the appropriate soft k ey . In some functions, you may be asked for a PIN or passwo rd. Ent er the cod e and pre ss the Confirm soft key or the OK key .
Getting Started 19 When an option has sub - options, an arrow is shown on the right. Press the Select soft key or the Right scroll k ey and the sub-option list appears. Y ou can use it in the same way as a normal option list. T o exit the sub-option li st, press the Left scroll key or the Back soft k ey .

Call Functions 21 Making a Call Using Contacts Y ou can store contact information, such as names and phone numbers that you use regularly , in the SIM card and the phone’ s memory . This information is stored in one list, called Contacts. F or more inform ation about adding contacts, see page 71.
Call Functions 22 3. Enter the number that needs to follow the pause, such as your account number . 4. R epeat steps 2 and 3 to add more pauses and numbers, if necessary . 5. Press the key to dial. 6. When prompted, press the key to send the DTMF (Dual T one Multi-frequency) tones of the number that follows the pause.

Adjusting the Vo lume If you wish to adju s t th e ea rpie ce v o lum e du rin g a call, use keys on the left side of the phone. Press t he key to in crease the volume level an d the key to decrease the lev el.
Call Functions 24 2. Selec t New call and press the OK key . 3. Enter the phone number you w ant to dial and press the key , Call soft key , or OK key to make the second call. The first call is autom atically put on hol d. Note : Y ou can first enter a phone number and then press the Options soft key .
Call Functions 25 T o en d both call s at one t ime , close t he fol der , or press the Options soft key and select End calls . Making a Conference Call The Conference Call feature is a network service that allows up to five peop le to take part simultan e ou sly in a call.
Call Functions 26 1. Press the Options soft key and select the Drop option. Press the OK key . 2. Press the Up or Down scroll k ey to scroll to the participant you w ant to remov e and press the OK key . The call ends with th at particip ant, but y ou can continue to talk to the other participants.
Call Functions 27 For further d etails about entering text, see page 31. 6. Enter any other phone number to which you want to send the message. If you want to add more numbers, press the Down scroll key and enter a number . Repeat as needed. 7. When you finish entering the numbers, press the Options soft key and select the Send option.
Call Functions 28 The Mute icon ( ) appears on the display and your party can no longer hear y ou. T o switch the microphone back on: 1. Press the Options soft key . 2. Press the Up or Down scroll ke y to select Unmute and press the OK key . The Mute icon disappears.
Call Functions 29 When your call is connected, the other person appears on the screen. 3. Use the Show me soft key to s ee the image of yourself as the other person sees you. 4. Use the Options soft ke y to mute the V oice, Camera(Video ), V oice-Video all, or K eytone.
Call Functions 30 Mute keytone : mutes yo ur key ton es. Flip image : turns the image on the display upside down during video calls . Quality control : allows you to adjust the image quality: Normal , Good quality , or Good motion . Good quality emphasises the picture quality and Good motion emphasises the frame count.
31 Entering Text Y ou may need to enter text, when storing a name in Contacts, creating your personal greeting, or scheduling events in your calendar . Entering Te xt 33 Using T9 Mode T o enter a word in the T9 mode: 1. Start ente ring the w ord by pres sing the keys 2 to 9 . Press each key only once for each letter . Example : T o ent er “hello” in the T9 mode, press 4 , 3 , 5 , 5 and 6 . The word you are entering appears on the display .
Entering Text 34 Changing the Letter Case T o change the letter case of the next letters that you type, press the key . There are three cases: • Initial Capital ( ) • Capital Lock ( ) •L o w e r C a s e ( ) Scrolling T o move the cursor to the lef t or right wi thin the text, press the Left or Righ t scroll key .

Entering Text 36 Using Symbol Mode Y ou can insert symbols into a text message. The text me ssage you’ ve enter ed is shown in the symbol entering field. Move the cursor to where you want to enter a symbol using the Left or Right scroll key . To Press the display more symbols Up or Down scroll key .
37 Using Menu Functions Y our phone offe rs a range of functions that allow you to tailor the phone to your need s. These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus. The menus and sub-menus can be accessed by scrolling using th e scroll k e ys or by u sin g the shortcuts.
Using Menu Function s 38 Example : Changing the Language Display 1. When the idle screen is display ed , press the OK key to access the menu. The startup screen of t he My Media menu is displayed. 2. Scroll through the menus by pressing the scroll keys until you reach the Setting s menu.

42 SAT (SIM Application Toolkit) If you use a S A T card that pro vides additional services, the SA T menu displays. Fo r further details, see your SIM card instructions. This menu is shown only if it is supported by your SIM card. If your SIM c ard does not support this function, the Profiles menu (page 91) appears.
43 t-zones The t- zones is a wide rang e of mobile entertainme nt and info rmation service s provided by T -Mobile. The t-z ones gives you unlimited access to the Mobile W eb and your e-mail! Get the latest music, news, sports, and w eather from leading providers, and play the latest gam es.
t-zones 44 Entering Text in the Brow ser When prompted, you c an enter letters, numbers or symbols the same way as in the pho ne mode. See page 31 for more information about entering characters.

Call register 47 Send message : allows you to send a text message, multi media messag e or message with media attached. Delete : deletes the call re cord from the list. Delete all : deletes all of the call records sto red in the current call register .

49 Messages Using the Messages menu, you can create, send, read and save messages with the Short Messa ge Ser vice (SMS) , Mul time dia Mes sage Service (MMS), or Email. SMS is a service wh ich allows y ou to sen d or receive a text message. MMS is a messaging service very similar to a SMS.

Select one of the following op tions: • Use te xt tem plates : allows you to use one of the preset message templates stored in the Text tem plates menu; for further details, see page 59.

Messages 57 then, when you press the OK key , or press the Options soft key and select Install , a popup message appears to ask y ou if you want to install the setting in your phone. P ress the Yes soft key to update your phone’s netwo rk configuration.
Messages 58 Outbox (Menu 4-4) This menu stores the messages that you ha ve sent. When you access the Outbox menu, the lis t of messages you hav e sent displays with the message subject, recipient ’s address and message size.
Messages 59 Templates (Menu 4-6) In this menu, you can read, edit and s end MMS templates and text temp lates. When you access the MMS templa tes or Text template s menu in the Templates menu, the list of MMS template s or T ext templates disp la ys.
Messages 60 Delete : deletes the text template message . Delete all : deletes all of the text temp late messages. Delete All (Menu 4-7) This menu option allows you to delete all of the messages in each message box. Y ou can also delete all of your messages at one time.
Messages 61 Reply path : allows you to set your SMS centre number as a reply path so th at the recipient can send a reply through it. The charge is billed to you. Delivery report : the network informs y ou whether or not your message has been d elivered.
Messages 62 Read report : allows y ou to request report to each recipient when your message was read by the recipient. Keep a copy : allows you to leav e a copy of your message in Outbox after sending it. Add my name card (select able in the File messenger menu only): allows your contact information to be attached to your message.
Messages 63 Email Settings Y o u can change the settings for sending or receiving e-mail messages. Send settings The following options are available: From : allows you to set the alias name. Send Account : allows you to sele ct the de fault account that is required when you send e-mail messages.
Messages 64 Y ou can have sever al network settings. Y ou can make changes or renam e each setting by pressing the Options soft key , but only one setting can be active as yo ur network setting. F or more information, see “Connections (Menu 9-6) ” on page 101.
65 My Media Y ou can enjoy various multimedia files, such as music, sounds, videos, game s, and pictures using My Media . Exploring the Multimedia F iles Y ou can use up to 5 categories of multimedia files: Photos , Pictures , Sounds , Games & More , Videos .
My Media 66 Fo r further details about sending multimed ia messages, see page 50. • Via email : allows you to send an e-mail using the mul timedia file.
My Media 67 Set for cover LCD : allows you to use the image as the background for cover L C D . Set as caller ID : allows you to use the image as a caller ID indicator to b e displa yed w hen a call comes in from a contact. Real size : shows you the selected im age as real size.
My Media 68 Set as ring tone : allows you to use the sound or melody as your ringtone of the voice or video call. Set as caller ID : allows you to use the sound as a caller ID indicator to b e played w hen a call comes in from a particular contact. Delete : deletes the selected file.
My Media 69 : forwa rd s the file. Press the Options soft k ey to use follo wing options. Record : starts recording. Record setting s : allows y ou to set the recording file name and max imum recording time.
70 Contacts Y ou can create a phonebook by saving phone numbers and names. Y our phone gives you an easy way to mak e calls by using the numbers or names stored in Contacts. Search Contact (Menu 6-1) When you access this menu, the Search contact screen displays.
Contacts 71 New (Menu 6-2) Y ou can add a new entry to your contacts saving phone numbers and the corresponding names in the SIM ca rd or ph one’s memory . Y ou can save up to 1000 names in the phone’ s memory . Each name can have up to five numbers and other personal information.
Contacts 72 • Phone number / Additional phone number : enter a phone number you w ant to add. • Email : enter the email address. • Group : enter one or more gro ups. Note : The input box es appeared can differ depending upon the SIM card. 2. Press the Do wn k e y to m o v e to the location number input box and modify a number , if you want.
Contacts 73 •P i c t u r e : allows you to sele ct an im a g e to be displayed wh en a call or mes sage com es in from a contact. Press the OK key . Y ou can select a category from icon, animation and photo, and then choose a file from My Media . •R i n g t o n e : allows you to set a sound to be played when a call comes in from a contact .
Contacts 74 When you press the Opti ons soft k ey , th e followin g options ar e av ailable: Edit : allows y ou to edit the se lected num ber and name. Send message : allows you to send a message to the contact. Y ou can write a text message, create a m iltimedia message, or w rite a me ssage to which you attach a media file using file messenger .
Contacts 75 • Add group : enters a new group nam e to add a new group. Y o u can see the new group name in the Group list. • Rename group : allows you to cha nge th e group name. • Delete group : deletes the selected group . • Delete all groups : deletes al l of the groups.
Contacts 76 My Name Card (Menu 6-5) Y ou can store personal information, such as your first and last name, wireless phone number , home number , office number , fax number , e- mail, URL, memo or etc. Press the Options soft key to access the foll owing op tion s: Save : saves y our inform atio n.
77 Organiser The Organiser feature allows you to view the current month as well as the past or future month in calendar format. Y ou can schedule up to 100 events in total. Y ou can also make up to 50 anniversary , 20 task and 20 memo it ems. Calendar (Menu 7-1) The calendar displays the current month and highlights the current day .
Organiser 78 Today’s Event (Menu 7-2) When you press the Opti ons soft k ey , th e following o ptio n s are a v ailable; thes e m a y be different depe nding on the selected event type: View : shows you details of the event. New : allows you to mak e a new Schedule , Anniversary , Task or Memo .

Organiser 80 • Repeat : if you are entering a recurring event, press t he OK key and select the repeat option using the Left or Right key . Then enter the date that you wish the event to stop recurring. • Expiry : select how long the event is to be stored in your calend ar .

Organiser 84 Playing a File using the Media Player 1. On the screen of the Media Player , press the Optio ns soft k ey . 2. Scroll t o Open play list or Open fi le and press the OK key . The screen disp lays showing files av ai la ble in the Media Player .
Organiser 85 When you press the Options soft key while a file is playing, the foll ow in g option s are a va ilab le : Play : resumes playing. Stop : stops playing. Pause : pauses playing. Open play list : allows you to ope n ano ther file or mak e a file lis t y ou w a n t t o p la y .
86 Camera Using the camera module built into y our phone, you can take pictures or record videos of people or events. Additionally , you can s end the images to other people in a mu lt im e dia m e ssa ge. When the camera turns on, you can di al a number to make a video ca ll; fo r further details about using the vid eo call feature, see page 28.
Camera 87 When you press the Opti ons soft key in S te p 4, the following opti ons a re a vaila b le: Viewfinder : switches the screen to Capture mode to allow you to tak e another picture. Send : • Via multimed ia m sg . : allows you to send a multime dia m e ssage usin g th e tak en picture.
Camera 88 Scroll to an item and place a check mark ahead of it by pr essi ng the OK key . Timer : sets the phone to take a picture at a predefined time. Once you set the ti me, the timer icon appears at the below of the scree n. When you press the OK key , the phone takes a picture afte r the predefi ned time.

91 Settings Many diff erent fe ature s of your ph one can be customised to suit your preferences in the Settings menu. Profiles (Menu 9-1) In Profi les , you can adjust and customise the phone tones for diff erent events or sit uations.
Settings 92 • Tone volume : allows you to adjust the volume level of the voice call, video call, ringtone, and the me ssage alert tone. • Msg. alert t ype : allows you to se le ct the alert type for the message ringer .
Settings 93 3. When you hav e finished setting the options, press the Save soft k ey . Phone (Menu 9-2) In this menu, yo u can set options fo r the phone. LCD Bright ne s s Y o u can adjust the brightness of the screen. Press the Left or Right scroll ke y to make the screen darker or brighter and then press the Save soft key .

Press the Up or Down scroll k ey to select a language for the T9 input mode and press the Select soft key . 5. Press the Save soft key . Active F older When this op tion is set to On , you can answer a call by o pening the ph one.
Settings 95 Display (Menu 9-3) This menu allows you to customise the main display screen by setting a greeting message, setting a wallpaper image, or changing the theme colour . Greeting Messag e Y ou can set a greeting message to be displayed briefly when you switch the phone on.
Settings 96 Call (Menu 9-4) Caller ID Y o u can prevent your phone number from being displayed on the phone of the person b eing called. Note : Some networks do not allow the user to change this setting. The following options are available: By network : the default setting provided by the network is used.
Settings 97 3. Press the Left or Right scroll key to select one of the followi ng optio ns: • Activate : this option activ ate s the numbe r . • Deactivate : this option deact ivates the setting. 4. Press the Do wn scroll key and enter or change the number to which you want your calls diverted.

Settings 102 Protocol : allows you to select the protocol from among WAP , HTTP , and Other . Home URL : allows you to see the W AP/HT TP/ MMS server address. Gateway address (av a il ab le only wi th th e W AP protocol): allows you to se t the gatewa y address.
Settings 103 Security (Menu 9-7) The Security feature enables you to restrict the use of your phone: • to the pe ople of your choi ce • to certain types of calls V arious codes and passw ords are used to protect the features of your phone.
