6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details, su ch as your PIN, any optional services available, and many others.
Section 1: Getting Started 7 Activating Y our Phone Section 1 4. Slide the SIM card into the SI M card socket so that the card locks into place. Ma ke sure the gold contacts of the card face into the phone.
8 Section 1 5. (1) Place the battery so that the tabs on the e nd align with the slots at the bottom of the phone. (2) Press the batter y down until it clicks into place. 6. Replace the battery cover . Make sure that the ba ttery is properly instal led before switching on the phone.

Low Battery Indicator When the battery is weak and only a few minutes of talk time remain, a warning tone sounds and the “Battery low” message repeats at r egular intervals on the display .

46 Section 5 Changing the T ext Input Mode When using your ph one, you wi ll often need to enter text, such as when storing a name in your Phonebook , creating your personal greeting or scheduling events on your calendar . Y ou can enter alphan umeri c characters by using your phone’s keypad.

54 Section 6 Storing a Number in the Phone’ s Memor y The default for saving phon e numbers to your phonebook is your phone’s memory . Y ou c an also save it to your SIM card or you ca n set your default so that whenever a new phonebook entry is created, you will be pr ompted to choose between Phone or SIM card .

Section 7: Messages 91 Delete all Section 7 Delete all This menu allows you to delete all of the mess ages in each message box. Or , you can also delete all of your messages in all message boxes at one time. Important! Onc e messages have been deleted, they cannot be recovered.
92 Section 7 • Validity period : allows you to set the length of time you r text messages are stored at the message center while attempts are made to deliver them . • Reply path : allows the recipient of your message to se nd you a reply message using your message center , if your network supports this service.

Section 8 96 Time & Date Settings This menu allows you to chan ge the current time and date displayed. The following options ar e available: • Set time: allows you to change the ho ur and minute. • AM/PM: allows you to set either AM or PM. • Time format: allows you to select whether your time is displayed in 12 hour or 24 hour format.
