Your Phone 10 Key Description Perform the functions indicated by the text above them (in the bottom line of the display). Deletes characters from the display. In the menu facility , returns to the previous menu level. Makes or answers a call. In idle mode , recalls the last number dialled.
13 Your Phone 12 Your Phone Display Display Layout The display comprises three areas. Menu PhoneBook Icons Icon Description Shows the received signal strength. The greater the number of bars, the better the signal strength. Appears when a call is in progress.
14 Your Phone Backlight The display and keypad are illuminated by a backlight. When you press any key, the backlight illuminates. It turns off if no key is pressed within a given period of time, depending on the Backlight option set in the Phone Settings menu.

Press to dial the number displayed. Adjusting the Volume During a call, if you want to adjust the earpiece volume, use the volume keys on the left side of the phone.
31 General Functions 30 General Functions Viewing Missed Calls If you are unable to answer a call for any reason, you can find out who was calling you, if this service is available. In this way, you can call the person back, if necessary. The number of missed calls is displayed on the idle screen immediately after the call was missed.

These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed via the two soft keys marked ... . Each menu and sub-menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.

In addition, you can store up to 100 numbers and names in the phone memory . The SIM card and phone memories, although physically separate, are used as if they were a single entity, called the phonebook.

45 In-Call Options Y our phone provides a number of control functions that you can use during a call. To access these functions during a call, press the Options soft key . Switching the Microphone Off (Mute) Y ou can temporarily switch your phone’s microphone off, so that the other party cannot hear you.

The curr ent call is placed on hold and the call on hold is reactivated so that you can continue conversing with the other party . When you have finished, end each call normally by pressing the key .

Y ou can also: • Edit the number and save it in the phonebook • Redial the number • Delete the number from the list Call Time Menu 2-4 This option lets you view the timers for calls made and received.
62 Call Records Call Cost Menu 2-5 This network feature lets you view the cost of calls. The following options are available. Last Call Cost: cost of the last call made.

65 Text Messages 64 Text Messages After you complete the message, you can select the following options. Send Only: allows you to: • Enter the required destination • Enter or change the SMS centre .
67 Text Messages 66 Text Messages Default Validity: allows you to set the default time period for which your messages are stored in the SMS centre while attempts are made to deliver them. Possible values are one hour, six hours, 24 hours, one week and the maximum authorised by your service provider .
68 Text Messages Receive: allows you to Enable or Disable the reception of broadcast messages. Channel List: lists all available channels. The channels cur r ently selected are indicated by an asterisk ( * ) beside the name. When you select one of them, you can edit, enable (or disable) or delete the channel.
69 Voice Memo Y ou can use the Voice Memo feature to: • Record up to four voice memos • Play the recorded voice memos • Delete one or all voice memos V oice Memo Record Menu 4-1 This option allows you to record a memo.
71 70 Voice Memo Sound Settings Y ou can use the Sound Settings feature to customise various settings, such as the: • Ringing tone, volume and type • Sounds made when you press a key, make an error or receive a message Ring Tone Menu 5-1 This option allows you to select the required ringing tone.

81 Clock Settings 80 Clock Settings Once Alarm: the alarm rings only once and is then deactivated. W eekly Alarm: the alarm rings every week on the same day and at the same time. T o set the alarm, proceed as follows. 1. Select Set Alarm . 2. Choose the alarm frequency option.
83 S e c u r i t y 82 Change PIN Menu 8-2 This feature allows you to change your cur rent PIN toa new one, provided that the PIN Check feature is enabled. You must enter the cur rent PIN before you can specify a new one. Once you have entered a new PIN, you are asked to confirm it by entering it again.
85 S e c u r i t y 84 S e c u r i t y Change Password Menu 8-4 The Change Password feature allows you to change your curr ent phone password to a new one. You must enter the cur r ent password before you can specify a new one. The password is factory set to 0000.
86 87 Network Services Network Services These menu functions are network services. Please contact your service provider to check their availability and subscribe to them, if you so wish. Call Diverting Menu 9-1 This network service enables incoming calls to be r erouted to the number that you specify .

93 Network Services 92 Network Services Preferred List: allows you to list your prefer red networks to be used when roaming. Your phone uses the networks in order of appearance in this list, provided that the network is available. When you select this option, the cur rent preferred list is displayed if it already exists (see the procedure below).
94 Network Services Activating a Closed User Group If you select the Closed User Group menu, you ar e asked if you want to activate the CUG function. Press the Y es soft key. You can now access the following options. Deactivate: deactivates the CUG function.
95 Solving Problems Before contacting the after-sales service, perform the following simple checks. They may save you the time and expense of an unnecessary service call. When you switch your phone on, the following messages appear Insert SIM Card • Check that the SIM card is cor rectly installed.

112 Installing the Flip Cover If the flip cover is detached from the phone either accidentally or on purpose, it can be clipped back on to the phone. 1. Insert one end of the flip cover into the left tab on the bottom of the phone. 2. While pushing the right tab with a small tool such as a pen, clip the other end of the cover into place.
