6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details, su ch as your PIN, any optional services available, and many others.
Section 1: Getting Started 7 Activating Y our Phone Section 1 3. Slide the SIM card into the SI M card socket so that the card locks into place. Make sure the gold contacts of th e card face into the phone. 4. Place the battery so tha t the tabs on the end alig n with the slots at the bottom o f the phone (1).
8 Section 1 Y ou can use the phone while th e battery is charging, but doing so wi ll require ad ditional charging t ime. Note: Y ou must fully char ge the battery before using your phone for the first time. A discharged battery recharges full y in approximatel y 200 minutes.

46 Section 5 Changing the T ext Input Mode When using your ph one, you wi ll often need to enter text, such as when storing a name in your Phonebook, creating your personal greeting or scheduling events on your calendar . Y ou can enter alphan umeri c characters by using your phone’s keypad.

Y ou can al so save it to your SIM card or you ca n set your default so that whenev er a new phonebook entry is created, you will be pr ompted to choose between Phone or SIM card .

They are physically separate but ar e used as a single entity , called Phonebook. Depending on your particular SIM card, the maximum number of phone numbers the SIM car d can stor e may diffe r .

Settings In this menu, you can set up default text message, pictur e message, and push message information. The last setting you accessed is automatica lly activated for sending subsequent messages.
Section 7: Messages 95 Broadcast Messages (SIM Dependent) Section 7 • Read reply : when this option is enabled, your phone sends a request for a reply along with your message to the recipient. • Priority : you can select the priority level of your messages.
96 Section 7 Instant Messaging Instant Mess aging is a way of sending short, simple messages that are deliver ed immediately to users online at that moment. Before using this feat ure, you need to subsc ribe to a messenger service. For furt her details, contact your service provider .
