42 T e xt Entr y Modes Y ou can compos e text messages usin g al phabetical characte rs, symbols, and numbers. Each method of character entr y (s ymbol, number , and so on) is called a text entry mode. T here are fou r text entry modes, as indi cated: • Alpha — Alphabetical text entry mode.

Each phone number can b e up to 32 digits in length, inc luding hard pauses.
