The phone goes into stan dby mode: • After you power the phone on. • When you press after a call or from within a menu. In standby mo de, you will see the time, day , and date as well as all phon e status icons.

36 Section 3 Call Notification F eatures Y our pho n e notifies you of a call in a variety of ways. • Nine ring volume settings inc luding 1-beep, Vibra te, Silent, or Vibrate+Ring. • Different ring types or melodies to disti nguish callers. • Name display with caller ID.

38 Section 3 Caller ID Caller ID lets you identi fy who is calling you by displaying a caller ’s number . If the caller ’s name and number are st or ed in Contacts, the caller ’s name also appears. If you’ve assigned a pictur e to the entry , it appears in the display as well.

Section 3: Call Functions 47 Voice Kit Section 3 • If you are experiencing frequent problems gett ing Digit Dial to recognize you, try adapting it to your voice, which can greatly improve accuracy . See “Digit Dial Adaptation” on page 159 for more information.
48 Section 3 Name Dial Name Dial lets you dial any person in your Contacts by pr onouncing that person’s name. It automatically voice activates every contact in your Contacts without the need to re cor d or “train” names befor e using them. Place a Call Using Name Dial 1.

Before you can use Quick Dial, you’ll need to r ecord the names you wish to use. See “Recor d a Name or Phrase for Quick Dial” on page 154 for more information.

70 Section 6 Contacts Up to 500 entries can be store d in Contacts. Each entry can have up to five associated phone numbers and two e-mail addr esses. Each phone number can be up to 32 digits in length, including har d pauses, and associated names can be up to 22 characters in leng th .
