Basics 7 • Do not cov er the antenna ar ea with your hands or other objects. This ma y cause connectivity problems or drain the battery . • Using a Samsung-appro ved scr een protector is rec ommended. Unapprov ed screen protectors may cause the sensors t o malfunc tion.
Basics 8 Bat ter y Charg ing the batter y Charge the batt er y befor e using it for the first time or when it has been unused f or ex tended periods. Use only Samsung-appro ved chargers , batteries, and cables. Unappr oved chargers or cables can cause the battery to explode or damage the device.
Basics 9 3 After fully charging , disconnect the device from the charger . First unplug the char ger from the device , and then unplug it from the electr ic socket.
Basics 10 Batter y charg ing tips and precautions • When the battery power is low , the ba tter y icon appears empty . • If the batter y is completely dischar ged, the device cannot be turned on immediat ely when the charger is connected. A llow a depleted batt er y to char ge for a f ew minutes befor e tur ning on the device .
Basics 11 F ast charging The device has a built -in fast charging f eature. Y ou can use this featur e to charge the batt er y more quickly while the device or its screen is turned off . About F ast charging • F ast charg ing uses battery charging technology that charges the ba tter y faster by increasing the char ging pow er .
Basics 12 W ireless charg ing The device has a built -in wireless charg ing coil. Y ou can charge the battery using a wireless charger (sold separat ely). F ast wir eless charging Y ou can charge y our device faster using the fast wireless charg ing featur e.
Basics 13 2 After fully charging , disconnect the device from the wireless char ger . • When there ar e foreign ma terials between the device and the wireless char ger , the device may not char ge properly . • If you use the wireless char ger in areas with weak netw ork signals, y ou may lose network reception.

Basics 18 Using dual SIM or USIM car ds (dual SIM models) If you inser t two SIM or USIM cards , you can have two phone numbers or service providers f or a single device . Activating SIM or USIM car ds On the Home screen, tap Apps → Settings → SIM card manager .
Basics 19 T ouchscreen • Do not allow the touchscr een to come int o contact with other electr ical devices . Electrostatic discharges can cause the touchscr een to malfunc tion. • T o av oid damaging the touchscr een, do not tap it with anything sharp or apply ex cessive pr essure to it with your fingertips.
Basics 20 T apping and holding T ap and hold an item or the screen f or more than 2 seconds to access a vailable options. Dragging T o move an it em, tap and hold it and drag it to the target position. Double -tapping Double -tap on a webpage or image to zoom in.
Basics 21 Swiping Swipe to the left or right on the Home screen or the Apps scr een to view other panels. Swipe upwar ds or down wards t o scroll thr ough a webpage or a list of items , such as contac ts. Spreading and pinching Spread two fingers apart on a webpage, map , or image to zoom in a part.
Basics 22 Home screen Home screen The Home screen is the starting point for acc essing all of the device’ s featur es. It displays widgets, shortcuts to apps, and mor e. T o view other panels, swipe to the left or right. The Home screen ma y appear differently depending on the r egion or ser vice provider .
Basics 23 Home screen options On the Home screen, tap and hold an empty area, or pinch y our fingers together to ac cess the available options . Customise the Home screen b y adding, deleting , or rearranging Home screen panels . Y ou can also set the Home screen wallpaper , add widgets to the Home screen, and more .

Basics 25 Crea ting folders 1 On the Home screen, tap and hold an app , and then drag it over another app . 2 Drop the app when a f older frame appears around the apps. A new folder c ontaining the selected apps will be created . 3 T ap Enter f older name and enter a f older name.

Basics 31 Edge lighting The Edge scr een lights up when you r eceive a call or notification while the device ’ s screen is facing down wards . On the Apps screen, tap Settings → Edge screen → Edge lighting , and then tap the switch to activate it.
Basics 32 P eople edge The Edge scr een can display a tab with an assigned c olour when there is a missed notification from a priority contact. On the Apps screen, tap Settings → Edge screen → P eople edge , and then tap the switch to activate it.
Basics 33 V iewing missed notifications from My people When there is a missed notifica tion from a My people contact, a tab with the contact ’ s assigned colour will appear on the Edge scr een. Drag the tab to wards the cen tre of the scr een to view the details.
Basics 34 C ontacting My people Open the My people list and tap a contact. The communication butt ons will appear on the screen. T ap the desired button to call, send a message , or send an email to the contact. OnCircle Y ou can easily keep in touch with M y people contacts and get their attention using v ar ious notifications.

Basics 36 Sending live emotic ons Y ou can show your status or mood to y our My people contacts using live emoticons. T ap under your con tact ’ s profile image. S wipe to the left or right and selec t an emoticon to send it. The liv e emoticon will be sent automatically .
Basics 37 V iewing messages When you r eceive OnCircle messages , a tab with the contact ’ s assigned colour will appear on the Edge screen. Dr ag the tab towar ds the centre of the screen and tap y our contact ’ s profile image to view the details.

Select an app and tap DISABLE or UNINST ALL . Alternativ ely , on the Apps screen, tap Settings → Applications → Application manager , select an app, and then tap DISABLE or UNINST ALL .

Applications 87 4 T o set your br oadcast as public or private , tap Settings → Priv ac y . 5 T ap Invite and select contacts. When the broadcast starts, the video link will be sent to the selected contacts via message. T he invit ed contacts can watch the br oadcast by tapping the link.
