14. Never move the walking belt while the power is turned off. Do not operate the treadmill if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the t readmill is not working properly. (See TROUBLESHOOTING on page 22 if the tread- mill is not working properly.

And when you’re not exercising, the unique XP 65 0E tr ead- mill can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other treadmills.
ASSEMBL Y M ake sure that the power cord is unplugged. Assembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and r emov e all pack ing m ater ials . Do n ot di spose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. N ote: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
6 3. Remove the knob from the pin. Make sure that the collar and the spring are on the pin. Next, insert the pin into the Left Handrail Cover (27), and tighten the knob back onto the pin. Place the treadmill in the storage position (see HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE on page 21).
7 7. Attach the two Wheels (94) to the base of the Uprights (97) with two Wheel Bolts (90), four Wheel Spacers (79), and two Nuts (20) as shown. Do not overtighten the Nuts; the Wheels should turn freely. With the help of a second person, carefully raise the Uprights (97) to the vertical position.
8 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
9 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the t ouch of a button.
10 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 8). Locate the reset /off c ircuit breaker on the treadmill frame near t he power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position. Stand on the foot rails of the treadmill.

12 H OW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 10. S elect a preset program. To select a preset pro- gram, press one of the Walk but- tons, one of the Jog but- tons, or one of the Run buttons.
13 Follow your progress with the display. See step 5 on page 10. Measure your heart rate if desired. S ee step 6 on page 11. Turn on the fan if desired. See step 7 on page 11. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. When the program has ended, make sure that the incline of the treadmill is at the lowest set- ting.
14 E nter a target heart rate setting. If the Interval program is selected, the maxi- mum target heart rate setting of the program will appear in the dis- p lay. If desired, press the Heart Rate increase and decrease buttons to change the maximum target heart rate setting (see EXERCISE INTENSITY on page 24).
15 HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL TO USE IFIT.COM PROGRAMS To use iFIT.com MP3 or CD programs , the treadmill m ust be connected to your MP3 player, CD player, p ortable stereo, home stereo, or computer. See pages 15 and 16 for connecting instructions. To use iFIT.
16 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO N ote: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, see instruction A below. If the LINE OUT jack is b eing used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of a long 1/8” to RCA stereo audio cable (available at electronics stores) into the input jack on the console.
17 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR VCR N ote: If your VCR has an unused AUDIO OUT jack, see instruction A below. If the AUDIO OUT jack is b eing used, see instruction B. If you have a TV with a built-in VCR, see instruction B. If your VCR is connected to your home stereo, see HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO on page 16.
18 If the speed or incline settings are too high or too low, you can manually override the settings at any t ime by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons on the console. However, when the next “chirp” is h eard, the speed and/or incline will change to the next settings of the program.

20 THE INFORMATION MODE/DEMO MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of the total number of hours that the treadmill has b een operated and the total number of miles that the walking belt has moved.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may become p ermanently damaged. In addition, remove the key and unplug the pow er cord.

With the help of a second person, carefully raise the Uprigh ts (97) as show n. Carefully pivot the Hood (93) o ff. L ocate the Reed Switch (22) and the Magnet (19) on the left side of the Pulley (18). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.

25 SUGGESTED STRETCHES T he correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1 .
