Howe ver , because of the size and weight of the EFX, y ou will need to obtain appropriate assistance during assembly . INST ALLA TION REQUIREMENTS F ollow these installation requirements when installing the EFX.

page 14 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 10. Connect the cable. Diagram 7, inset. Inser t the cable into its receptacle . Just lik e a telephone connection, a definite "clic k" is heard when a good connection is made. If you do not hear a "clic k," tr y reinser ting the cable connection again.

When you hav e installed the first stabilizer , perf orm the same steps on the opposite stabilizer . a. Remov e f our bolts (G) and f our washers (H) from the Hardw are kit.
page 16 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 15. Tighten all mounting screws using a ⁹⁄₁₆ -inch wrenc h. Diagram 11. a. Ask for assistance to remov e the suppor tive w edge from beneath the base assembly and to turn the unit onto its side.
page 17 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 16. Attach the left and right handlebars . Diagram 12. P erf orm the follo wing steps on one side of the unit and then, repeat the steps on the opposite side. a. Remov e the three bolts (E) and w ashers (F) from the Hardware kit.

It is inser ted through the link ar m first. c. Place a steel b ushing (A) and washer (L) on the end of the scre w .
page 20 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION e. Wrench tighten using a ⁹⁄₁₆ -inch soc ket and open end wrench. Refer to Diagram 15, #1. Impor tant: Once the f asteners are secured, use a he x torque wrench to tighten the two linkage arm screws to 200 in-lbs.
page 21 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 20. Attach the brac ket cover . Diagram 16. T ake the f ollowing steps to attach the cov er ov er the upright suppor t bracket. CA UTION : Do not overtighten the screws or y ou may inad vertently cause stress cracks in the plastic.
page 22 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 21. Level the unit. Diag ram 17. T o keep the unit stab le, the EFX has adjustab le rear pads and, at the front of the base assembly , a height adjuster . Check to make sure that the unit does not wob ble from side to side or front to bac k.

page 26 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION T o access the Custom Settings Mode, the f ollowing m ust occur : ❑ Electrical power m ust be supplied. The foot pedal speed m ust be maintained at 40 strides per minute. Or , the optional power adapter m ust be plugged into the EFX and connected to an appropriate power source.
page 27 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION SETTING A WORKOUT TIME LIMIT Y ou can limit how long a user works out by setting a duration between 1 and 240 minutes . Y ou can also choose NO LIMIT which allows the user to select a program and work out indefinitely .
page 28 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Press Enter once again and the Err or Log appears. The EFX stores the last ten errors that hav e been detected. Press any ▼ or ▲ k ey to vie w the error codes. Note : If the EFX has no errors stored in memor y , a “– – –” appears on the display .

Impor tant : Because the EFX is self-powered, the Precor banner does not appear until the user maintains a stride rate abov e 40 strides per minute.

page 34 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION KEYS ON THE DISPLA Y CONSOLE The Precor products hav e an easy-to-use keypad that is activ ated b y the slightest touch. Remind users that they only need to lightly ta p the ke ys. Each ke y on the displa y console’ s keypad pro vides specific functions.

page 36 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION The EFX is designed so that a user can work out with minimal instruction. The directions on the console and the prompts on the displa y help guide the user through an entire workout session.
page 37 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION REMOVING THE LOCKING PIN The locking pin secures the roller arm and keeps it from tra v eling up or down the ramp . Pull firmly on the pin to slide it out of the ramp. A lanyard is attached to the locking pin and ramp .
page 38 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION USING THE HANDLEBARS The handlebars on the EFX provide an upper-body work out that, when used proper ly , helps increase cardiov ascular fitness. By adding the upper-body movement to y our cross training workout, y ou’ re actually increasing your w ork effor t and enhancing your ov erall fitness le vel.
