page 9 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Thank you f or purchasing the Precor C934 treadmill. Built to the e xacting stan- dards of the health club environment, the treadmill is intended f or commercial use and can withstand the rigors of daily club use with little maintenance.

How e ve r , because of the size and w eight of the treadmill, you will need to obtain assistance. INST ALLA TION REQUIREMENTS F ollow these installation requirements when installing the treadmill.

page 13 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 6. Route the display cable. Diagram 5. Unwrap the cable and remo v e any kinks. Hav e an assistant hold the right upr ight suppor t close to the base while you route the cab le through it.

page 15 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Important : With the handrails attached, the width of the treadmill is 33½ inches (85 cm). It will not fit through a standard 32-inch doorway . 10. Prepare the unit for handrail installation. Diag ram 9. For an easier installation, raise the incline to its maximum height b y taking the f ollo wing steps: a.

T ake the f ollowing steps on one side of the treadmill and then, attach the opposite handrail. a. Slide the end of the handrail to ward the handrail clamp .

Cables protrude from the ends of both handrails and connect the metal strips on the handrails to the receiv er inside the displa y . Once the cab les are properly connected, a user’ s hear t rate appears when the user grasps both touch-sensitive grips.
page 18 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION c. Place y our left hand on the left handrail’ s hear t rate g rip and place your right hand on the r ight handrail grip . The letters “Hr” begin to blink in the upper right display indicating that a signal is being transmitted.
page 19 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 17. Tighten all mounting screws with the he x ke y (H) pro vided. Diag ram 15. Star t at the front of the treadmill with the four scre ws that attach the upright suppor ts to the front panel. See Diagr am 15, #1. Tightening these scre ws first helps pull the rest of the treadmill’ s parts into alignment.

page 22 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION CHECKING THE ALIGNMENT OF THE RUNNING BEL T The belt is aligned at the factory before shipment. How ev er , during shipment or by using the treadmill on an une v en surf ace, the belt might mo v e off center .

page 25 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION DETERMINING THE CLUB SPEED LIMIT Y ou can set the maximum speed f or the treadmill. This limits how f ast the running belt mov es and, consequently , how man y adjustments a user can make to the treadmill’ s speed.
page 26 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION VIEWING THE ODOMETER, HOURS OF USE, SOFTW ARE VERSION AND ERROR LOG While the Precor banner is being display ed, press: Stop , ENTER, QUICKST ART Note : Y ou need to press ENTER within ¹⁄₃ second after pressing the Stop button to initiate the Club Custom mode.
page 27 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION USING CSAFE ST ANDARD EQUIPMENT The C934 is fully compatible with CSAFE protocols . If the unit is connected to a CSAFE master de vice, the user will be prompted to enter a user ID . Fiv e zeros appear on the displa y .
page 28 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION C934 The C934 is designed so users can work out with minimal instruction or training. The directions on the console and the prompts on the displa y will guide a user through the entire workout session.

A cor- rect age entr y between 1 and 99 is ve r y impor tant if the user plans to utilize the heart rate characteristics of the treadmill.
page 32 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION CALORIES: Provides the cumulativ e number of calories being burned by the user . INCLINE: Displays the selected percent of incline during a workout. The INCLINE ▲ and ▼ k e ys aff ect the treadmill’ s lift and let the user set an incline betw een 0 percent and 15 percent.

When a user enters a course, the TIME and COURSE PROFILE features are preselected. Each SELECT ke y aff ects f our diff erent displa y f eatures.
page 36 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Once the C934 is set up, it is ready to use . There are no comple x instr uctions to f ollow or mandatory programming steps required to operate the treadmill. The easy-to-understand prompts let the user select a course and specify how long he or she wishes to work out.

page 39 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION COOLING DOWN AFTER A WORKOUT Cooling down is an important aspect of your workout because it helps reduce muscle stiffness and soreness by tr anspor ting excess lactic acid out of the working muscles .

page 42 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION When the user maintains his or her hear t rate between 70% and 85% of the maxi- mum aerobic hear t rate, the user is improving his or her ov erall cardio v ascular/ cardiorespiratory fitness lev el.

As the user proceeds with his or her workout, a b linking segment represents his or her position on the course.

page 45 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION HEART RA TE COURSE Once the user sets a target hear t rate and the running belt’ s speed, the C934 Hear t Rate Course monitors the user’ s hear t rate and automatically maintains it within a fe w beats per min ute (bpm) of the selected target.

Howe v er , as club manager or owner , you are responsible f or cleaning and maintaining the unit’ s integrity .
