Preparation 19 Attachi ng the Lens Hood When using the camera in bright sunlight, the lens hood should be installed. This will minimize lens flare and ghosting, thus improving t he ov erall quality of the photo . [Preparation] • Check t hat the pow er s witch is set to [OFF] and the lens barrel is retracted.

Preparation 21 Attachi ng the Strap 1 T o remove the cover , gen tly squeeze both sides of t he cover as shown in pictur e 1. 2 Rotate th e plastic par t of the metal fitting in the direction of the arrow . • Please attach the plastic part to the metal fitting again if it is detached.
Preparation 22 Attachi ng the Lens Cap When you t urn the cam era [OFF] or draw back the lens, attach the supplied l ens cap to protect the surf ace of the lens . 1 Pass the top of the string through the lens cap. 2 Pas s the opposite side of the string thro ugh the cir cula r part of the string .

An alternative t o first pressing halfwa y is to enable Continuous AF . • Ev en when the focus indication is display ed and t he f ocus is properly adjusted, it will be cancelled if you release the shutter button.

Auto exposure systems may not always calculate the exposure correctly . This is a normal situation. This feature allows y ou to manually compensate the exposure.
