17 Time Code & User’ s Bit Time code The time code signal is generated by the time code generator and recorded on the tape, and its value is read by the time code reader. The time code is used to display the absolute position of the tape in hour, minute, second and frame increments.

19 Display position The position of the superimposed displays can be changed using the setup menu item No.007 (CHARA H-POS) and No.008 (CHARA V-POS) settings.
20 Setup (Initial Settings) The VTR ’ s main settings can be performed and checked using the on-screen menus which are displayed on the video monitor connected to the VTR. They can also be performed and checked using the item numbers and setting numbers which are displayed on the VTR ’ s front panel display.

22 How to load the user defaults Set the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch to the MENU position.
