2 Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder. The battery must be removed before you can insert the SIM card. Ensure that the contact area on the card is facing down on the device, and the bevelled corner is facing towards the card holder slot. 3 Insert the battery.
A wrist stra p may not be inclu ded. Charge the battery Your battery has been partially charged at the factory. If the device indicates a low charge, do the following: 1 Connect the charger to a wall outlet. 2 Connect the charger to the device. 3 When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the device, then from the wall outlet.
Switch the device on and off Press and hold the power key to switch the device on and off. Press the power key briefly to end a call or close an application. If the device asks for a PIN code, en ter the PIN code, and select OK . If the device asks for the lock code, enter the lock code, and select OK .
Connect a US B data cable Connect a compatible USB data cable to the USB connector. To select the defau lt USB connection mo de or change the active mode, select > Settings and Connectivit y > USB > USB connection mode , and select the desired mode.
2 Select the device from which you want to transfer content. You are asked to enter a code on your device. Enter a code (1-16 digits), and select OK . Enter the same code on the other device, and select OK . The devices are now paired. For some device models, the Switch application is sent to the other device as a message.

Basic use Write text Traditiona l text input indicates traditional text input. and indicate the upperc ase and lowercase. indicates the sentence case, that is, the first letter of th e sentence is written in uppercase and all the other letters are automatically written in lowercase.
Change the w riting language When you are writing text, you can change the writing language. For example, if you press the 6 key repeatedly to reach a specific character, changing the writing language gives you access to characters in a different order.
The battery charge level. The higher the bar, the more charge remains in the battery. You have unread messages in th e Inbox folder in Messaging. If the indicator is blinking, your Inbox is full and you need to remove old messages from the Inbox before you can receive new messages.

Personalise y our device Home screen When you have switched on the device, and it is registered to a network, the device is in the home screen and ready for use. To open a list of most recently dialled numbers, press the call ke y. To call your voice mailbox, press and hold 1 .

To swap the places of images, select Option s > Swap images . To zoom the image on the display, select Option s > Zoom and scro ll up or down. To end the video call and make a new voice call to the same recipient, select Option s > Switch to voice call .

To send text messages to the SIM contacts while the fixed dialling service is active, you need to add the text message centre number to the fixed dialling list. Call divert Select > Settings > Settings and Phone > Call divert . Divert incoming calls to your voice mailbox or to another phone number.
Show call duration — Display the length of a call during the call. Summary after call — Display the length of a call after the call. Speed dialling — Activate speed dialling.
Contacts Stay connected with you r online friends You can synchronise t he contact information on your device with contacts you have on Facebook. You can also create a new Facebook account directly from your device.
Comment an d update stat uses To help keep in touch with your friends, you can comment on their status updates and read other people's comments. You can also update your own status. Messaging About messaging With Messaging (network s ervice), you can send and receive text, multimedia, audio, and e-mail messages. You can als o receive web service messages, cell broadcast messages, and special messages c ontaining data, and sen d service commands.

Using network services and downloading content to your device may result in data traffic costs. Ovi Cont acts About Ovi Contacts With Ovi Con tacts, you ca n stay connected to your friends and family, follow what they are up to, and discover new friends in the Ovi community.

Exit — End all active chats , and close the application. The available options may vary. To receive location information from your friend, you must have th e Maps application. To send and receive location information, both the Maps and Positioning applications are needed.
Share now playing — Allow your frie nds to see what music you are currently listening to on your mobile device. Share call status — Allow your friends to see your call status. Connectivity Connect your comput er to web You can use your device to con nect your PC to the web. 1 Connect the da ta cable to the USB connectors of your device and your PC. 2 Select Connect PC to web . The necessary software is automatically installed from your device to the PC.

Transfer music from PC 1 Ensure that a compatible memory card is inserted in the device. 2 Connect your device to the PC using Bluetooth connectivity or a compatibl e USB data cable. If you are using a USB data cable, connect it first to your device, and then to the computer.
Camera Capture an image Select > Camera . When capturing an image, note th e following: • Use both hands to keep the camera steady. • The quality of a digitally zoomed image is lower than that of a non- zoomed image. • The camera goes in to battery sa ving mode after about a minute of inactiv ity.
Images and videos About Gallery Select > Gallery > Images & videos and from the following: Captured — View all the images and video clips you have captured. Months — View images and video clips categorised by the month they we re captured.
To post your images or video clips files to a service, go to a service, and select Option s > New upload . If the online sharing service prov ides channels for posting files, select the desired channel. To add your image, video clip, or sound clip to the post, select Options > Insert .
