11 FIRE PROTECTION (Applicable only where local ordinanc e permits use of this alarm c ontrol panel for fi re protection.) Fire-Zone A larm If a fire is detected, “FIRE ALARM” w ill be displayed and t he keypad sounder will pulse.
12 FIRE PROTECTION Preparing a Fire Escape Plan Even with the most advanced fire alarm system, adequat e protection requires an escape pla n. To prepare your plan, draw floor plans of your building. (Space is provided on the next page). Show two exits - a front or back do or and a window from each ro om.

14 FIRE PROTECTION Although a fire alarm syste m may be of a reliable and state-of- the-art design, neither it nor its peripheral detection dev ices can offer guaranteed protection against fire.
15 FUNCTION MENU The keypad can provide access to a wide assortment of utility f unctions. The functions are displayed in a prom pting “YES/NO” fo rmat. 1 T o enter the Function Menu, press R . • In all UL-listed or high-security install ations, a valid User Code must first be entered followed by R .
16 A ctivate Bell Test ? Activates the alarm (while disarmed) for abou t 2 seconds and performs a battery test. If the alarm does not sound, call for service. • If the battery is low, a “LOW BATTERY E02-00 SERVICE” will appear in the displa y indicating a low battery condition.

18 FUNCTION MENU Activate Telephone Test? (Telephone Test prog rammed? YES NO). Sen ds a communicator test to the central station. A com munication failure w ill be indicated at the key pad by a sy stem trouble “E03-FAIL TO COMM” display .

29 K E Y P AD M E S S AG E S The system is in the process of report ing a cancel signal to central station which will cancel the ala rm which it has just reported. The alarm s ignal has been c ancelled duri ng the Abort Delay (before an alarm s ignal report was sent to the central station).

Abort Delay - A delay period that allows the co ntrol panel to be reset, thus aborting a report to a central station.
31 GLOSSARY Exit/Entry Delays - Separate delays that let you exit an d enter your premi ses without setting off an alarm when the system is armed. Inst ant Prote ction - Arming without en try delay using the Q button while rem aining on the prem ises.
32 GLOSSARY Zones - Independ ent circuits that protect specific areas of the premises: Auto-Bypass Zone : A zone that will be automatically bypassed from the protection system if it is in trouble (fau lty) when the s ystem is armed. Burglary Z one : Detects intrusion.
33 SYSTEM TROUBLE ERROR CODES Your control panel is capable of detecting a variety of troubles that may affect system performanc e. In the unlikely event that a problem should occur, the SYS TBL (system troubl e) i con will display on the left side of keypad w indow along with one or more o f the following error codes.

38 TROUBLESHOOTING What do I do if... For more info... I try to arm my system but the keypad just displays “ZONES NOT NO RMAL” and “CAN’T ARM SYSTEM” and be eps at me. If the green STATUS light is off, a zon e is open. Find and secure the open window or door.
