7 Please check to see if any problems you have encountered with your phone are described in this section before taking the phone in for service or calling a service representative. 1. Phone Memory In order to make more memory available, you will have to manage your applications and delete some data, such as applications or messages.
8 T o view the battery charge level 1 From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key and tap Settings > About this phone > Status . 2 The battery status (charging or not charging) and level are displayed on the top menu of the screen.
9 n Warning T ake precautions when using an Unlock Pattern, PIN, or Password. It is very important that you remember the screen unlock information you set. Y ou are allowed 5 attempts to enter your screen unlock information. If you used up all 5 opportunities, you will have to wait 30 seconds to attempt unlocking the phone again.
10 After uninstalling the application, turn off 4 and reboot your phone. Using Hard Reset (Factory Reset) If using Safe Mode does not restore your phone to the original condition, use a Hard Reset to initialize your phone. T urn the power off. 1 Press and hold the following keys at the 2 same time for 10 seconds: Power/Lock Key + Down V olume Key .
11 When the phone is connected as USB storage, you receive a notification. Y our phone’ s microSD card is installed as a drive on your computer . Y ou can now copy files to and from the microSD card. n TIP Y ou cannot access the microSD card from your phone while connected as USB storage.
12 Y our Phone T o turn on the phone, press and hold the Power/Lock Key for 3 seconds. T o turn off the phone, press the Power/Lock Key for 3 seconds and tap Power off and OK to confirm. 14 Installing the SIM card and battery Before you can start exploring your new phone, you’ll need to set it up. T o insert the SIM card and battery: Hold the phone on your hand firmly . With 1 the other hand, lift the back cover using the fingertip cutout located on the bottom of the cover and remove it.
15 Charging your phone Connect the cabless wall adapter and USB 1 cable as shown below . The LG logo on the USB cable should face toward you. Plug the USB cable (as shown below) into 2 the phone's charger/accessory port. Make sure the ‘B’ side is facing upwards.
16 Slide the slot protector to the left to unlock 2 it and flip it open. Then insert the microSD card into the slot. Make sure the gold contact area is facing downwards. Flip the slot protection down to close it. 3 Then slide the slot protection to the right to lock it and replace the battery cover .
17 n NOTE On Android OS 2.2 and above, you can download applications from Android Market and store them on a microSD card as well as on the phone. Due to this feature, if you skip the unmount procedure, it can cause an error because information between the microSD card and the phone is not accorded properly .
18 Getting Started Switching between and exiting applications Multi-tasking is easy with Android because open applications keep running even when you open another application. There is no need to quit an application before opening another . Use and switch among several open applications.
19 T ouch screen tips With the touch of your finger , you can access available applications, make menu selections, and access data saved to your phone. The following terms are used for describing the different available actions using the touchscreen: T ap - A single finger tap selects items, links, shortcuts and letters on the on-screen keyboard.
20 Lock your phone When you are not using the , press the Power/Lock Key to lock your phone. This helps prevent accidental presses and saves battery power .
21 Quick Keys T ap the Phone icon to bring up the keypad to make a call. T ap to access 3D Space. T ap to open your phone's web browser . T ap the Applications Key to view all your installed applications.
22 T o delete an application icon from the Home screen, touch and hold the shortcut icon you want to delete and drag to at the bottom of the screen. Y ou cannot delete the preloaded applications. (Only their icons can be deleted from the screen). Getting back to a recently used application T ouch and hold the 1 Home Key .

25 Android keyboard - Letters Entry Shift Key - T ap once to capitalize the next letter you type. Double-tap for all caps. Number and Symbols Key - T ap to change input to number and symbol entry . Delete Key - T ap to delete characters to the left of the cursor .
26 LG keyboard - QWERTY - Letters Entry Shift Key - T ap once to capitalize the next letter you type. Double-tap for all caps. Number and Symbols/ Settings Key - T ap to change input to number and symbol entry . T ouch and hold to set various LG keyboard settings.
27 LG keyboard – Phone keypad T o switch to the phone keypad on LG keyboard, touch and hold . T ap LG keyboard settings > Keyboard layout , then tap Phone keypad . The Phone keypad allows you to enter letters by tapping the key labeled with the desired letters, similar to how you would on a traditional 12 key phone.
28 Entering text Shift Key - T ap once to capitalize the next letter you type. Double-tap for all caps.The colored circle on the button tells you if uppercase is locked on or if it is just on for one character . Number and Symbols/ Settings Key - T ap to change to 123 Mode and enter numbers and symbols.
29 The first time you open a Google application on your phone, you will be required to sign in with your existing Google account. If you do not have a Google account, you will be prompted to create one. Creating your Google account From the Home screen, tap the 1 Applications Key .
30 IMPORT ANT U Some applications, such as Calendar , work only with the first Google Account you add. If you plan to use more than one Google Account with your phone, be sure to sign into the one you want to use with such applications first.
31 Making a call T ap 1 to open the keypad. Enter the number on the keypad. T o delete a 2 digit, tap the Clear icon . T ap the 3 Call icon to make a call. T o end a call, tap the 4 End icon . n TIP T o enter “+” to make international calls, touch and hold .
32 Making a second call During your initial call, tap the 1 Menu Key and select . Or , tap the Dialpad icon . Then enter the number you want to call. Dial the number or search your contacts. 2 T ap the 3 Call icon to connect the call. Both calls will be displayed on the call 4 screen.
33 Y ou can add contacts on your phone and synchronize them with the contacts in your Google Account or other accounts that support syncing contacts. Searching for a contact T ap 1 to open your contacts. T ap the 2 Search field and enter the contact name using the keypad.
34 A T&T Address Book (AAB) A T&T Address Book (AAB) is an application that automatically syncs your contacts to an online address book for safekeeping! When you first turn on the phone or change your SIM card and tap Contacts , the AAB application is displayed.
35 Messaging Y our phone combines SMS and MMS into one intuitive, easy-to-use menu. Threaded box Messages (SMS and MMS) exchanged with another party can be displayed in chronological order so that you can conveniently see an overview of your conversation.
36 Changing your message settings Y our phone's message settings are predefined, so you can send messages immediately . Y ou can change the settings based on your preferences. ] From the Home screen, tap Messaging > Menu Key > Settings . E-mail Y ou can use the E-mail application to read E-mail from providers other than Gmail.
37 SMTP Port number – Normally each account’ s default number will be displayed. T ap the Next button to connect the server . Setup Completed page will appear . Y ou will need to enter “name” for account display and My name. Then, tap Done . The account will now appear in the list of accounts in your E-mail folder .
38 Messaging/Email working on it. Y our message will also be saved as a draft if you touch the Back key before sending it. T ap Cancel to abandon and delete a message, including any saved drafts.
39 With your phone, you can enjoy social networking and manage your micro-blog in on-line communities. Y ou can update your current status, upload photos, and view your friends’ status updates in real-time. Y ou can add your Facebook, T witter , and MySpace accounts to your phone.
40 Viewing and updating your status Go to the Home screen panel where the 1 Social+ widget is. Y ou can see the current status of social applications you set.
41 Getting to know the viewfinder n NOTE Y ou can close all the shortcut options to give a clearer viewfinder screen. Just tap the center of the screen once. T o recall the options, tap the screen again. Camera Switch - Allows you to switch between the front-facing and back-facing cameras.
42 T aking a photo From the Home screen, tap 1 Camera . Holding the phone horizontally , point the lens 2 towards the subject you want to photograph. T ouch and hold the capture button lightly , 3 and a focus box will appear in the center of the viewfinder screen.
43 Camera Continuous : The camera continuously focuses on the objects in the photo, which is good for taking moving objects. Face tracking : The camera detects and focuses on human faces automatically . Image size – T ap to set the size (in pixels) of the picture you take.
44 Storage – Select the storage to save images between Internal memory and SD card . Reset – Restore all camera default settings. – T ap whenever you want to know how a function operates. This will provide you a quick guide. n NOTE U When you exit the camera, some settings will return to their defaults.
45 Zoom – Zoom in or zoom out. Alternatively you can use the V olume Keys. Brightness – This defines and controls of the amount of sunlight entering the lens. Slide the brightness indicator along the bar , towards “-” for a lower brightness video, or towards “+” for a higher brightness video.
46 Recording a video From the Home screen, tap 1 Camera and slide the camera mode button to change to Video mode. The icon will change to . The video camera’ s viewfinder will appear 2 on the screen. Holding the phone horizontally , point the 3 lens towards the subject of the video.
47 White balance – The white balance ensures any the white areas in your video are realistic. T o enable your camera to adjust the white balance correctly , you may need to determine the light conditions. Choose from Auto , Incandescent , Sunny , Fluorescent , and Cloudy .
48 T aking a 3D photo Open the Camera application. 1 Slide the 3D Camera Switch to right. 2 Holding the phone horizontally , point the lens towards the subject you want to photograph. 3 T ouch and hold the capture button lightly, and a focus box will appear in the center of the viewfinder screen.
49 3D Camera Recording a 3D video Open the 3D Camera application and slide the camera mode button to change to the 1 Video mode. The shutter icon will change to . The video camera viewfinder will appear on the screen. 2 Holding the phone horizontally , point the lens towards the subject of the video.

53 Sending a video T o send a video, touch and hold the 1 video you want. T ap 2 Share and choose from any of the available applications. When you choose 3 E-mail, Gmail or Messaging , your video will be attached to a message, which you can then write and send normally .
54 T ransferring files using USB mass storage devices T o transfer files using a USB device: Connect the phone to a PC using a USB 1 cable. If you haven't installed the LG Android 2 Platform Driver on your PC, you need to change the settings manually .

60 Google Applications n Ti p While viewing a map, tap the Menu Key > More for the following options: Labs, Cache Settings, Help, T erms, Privacy & Notices and About . Market™ Android Market™ lets you browse through and download thousands of fun and useful applications and games.
61 Google Applications Gmail™ Gmail™ can be configured when you first set up your phone. Depending on your synchronization settings, Gmail™ on your phone is automatically synchronized with your Gmail™ account on the web.The inbox conversations list is your default Gmail™ view .
62 Google Applications Y ou can also configure Google T alk to sign you in automatically when you turn on your phone, and you can set whether the mobile indicator is displayed next to your name in other people's Friends lists.

Highlight the text you want with your finger . The highlighted text is copied to the clipboard and you can paste it anywhere that allows text to be entered.
70 Wireless & networks This menu allows you to manage Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, portable hotspot and data tethering ,airplane mode and VPN connections.T o access this menu, from the Home Screen, tap Menu Key > Settings > Wireless & networks .
