Please read and understand these instructions before beginning your installation or operating the fireplace.
2 W ARNING T o avoid the risk of damaging fireplace materials and increas- ing the risk of fire, do not use the fireplace to cook or warm food. CAUTION NEVER use gasoline, gasoline- type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, naphtha, engine oil or similar liquids to start or “freshen up” a fire in this fireplace.
THE FIREPLACE INTRODUCTION The Cambria™ wood-burning fireplace is a mid-efficient, heat radiating fireplace. Y ou will receive a lifetime of comfort and enjoyment from your fireplace provided it is installed, maintained and operated properly . • Please read these instructions and retain this manual for future reference.
Accelerated Combustion The maximum heat output for the Cambria fireplace is achieved by burning with the door closed and the combustion air opened. How- ever , it will be necessary to reload with wood every hour . This is the least efficient method of burning the Cambria fireplace .
Building a Fire A) T o start a fire, place several crumpled up balls of newsp aper in the firebox. Place small dry pieces of kindling on top of the paper , criss-crossing the kindling so that there are air spaces in between. The kindling should be placed at the center of the firebox so as to allow for sufficient air circulation.
IMPORT ANT CAUTIONS A. Do not block the hot air vents to the fire- place as this will cause the fireplace to overheat. B. Never use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, or similar liquids to start or ‘freshen up’ a fire in this fireplace.

1. Combust ible material must be installed flush with the fireplace. It may not project in front of and on the fireplace (i.e. the steel facade of the fireplace) (see Figure 19 ) . 2. Non-combustible materials such as brick, stone or ceramic tile may project in front of and onto the fireplace facing (see Figure 20 ) .
