1 Foreword Thank you f or choosi ng the HUAWEI Asce nd P6 smartphone. This guide introduces you to the features and functions of your new phone and safety precau tions. 2 Safety precautions Please read these safety precautions carefully before operati ng your phone. Do not crush, throw , or puncture you r phone. Avoid dropping, squeezing, or bendin g it also. Your phone is not meant for use in a damp environment, such as the bathroom.

Prepara tions 4 Buttons Inserting or removing a micro-SIM card Your phone supports only m icro-SIM cards. Other sizes may not w ork properly. Contact yo ur service p rovider to r eplace or pur chase a new card. Power off you r phone before installing o r removing the micro-SIM card.
Prepara tions 5 1. Insert the end of an eject tool or paper clip into the hole next to the m icro-SIM card tray to release it. 2. Gently pull out the micro-SIM card tray. 3. Follow the directions on the m icro-SIM card tray to place the m icro-SIM card in the tray, and then push the tray back into place.

Prepara tions 8 Powering your phone on and off • To power on your phone , press and hold . • T o power off your phone, press and ho ld to display an option menu, and then touch Power off > OK . If errors occur and yo u cannot power off your phone, press and hold for 10 or more seconds to re start your phone.
9 Getting started Gestures Touch : Tap an item once. For examp le, touch to selec t an item or open an application. Touch and hold : Touch and leave you r finger on the screen for 2 seconds or more. Fo r example, touch and hold an applic ation, widget, or blank area to displa y the related option menu.

Sharing data 62 MTP mode The Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) is used to transfer media files, such as pictures, songs, and videos, between your phone and a computer. The MTP mode is only compatible with Windows Media Player 10 or later. 1. Use a USB cable to co nnect your phone to the computer.
