10 Basics Batt ery Y our phone uses a r echargeable ba ttery . Please use only original batteries and ac cessories that came with y our phone or replacements tha t we r ecommend. How long the ba ttery can last befor e it needs rechar ging depends on how y ou use your phone.
11 Basics Char ging the battery The batt ery is partially charged when shipped. Befor e you turn on and s tart using your phone, it is r ecommended that y ou charge the battery . Some batteries perf orm best aft er sev eral full char ge/ discharge cy cles.
12 Basics Swit ching y our phone on or off Swit ching your phone on Pres s the POWER butt on. Easy . When y ou turn on the phone for the first time, y ou’ll need to set it up. Go to “Setting up y our phone for the first time” and w e’ll take y ou through it.

Swit ching between calls If y ou’re alr eady on a call and acc ept another call, y ou can choose to switch betw een the two calls. 1. When y ou rec eiv e another call, tap answ er to acc ept the second call, and to put the first call on hold.
22 Phone calls Muting the micr ophone during a call T ap . T ap mute . T ap mute again to turn on the micr ophone. Ending a call On the screen, tap end call .
23 Phone calls Clearing the call hist ory list On the call history scr een, y ou can do the follo wing: T o remo ve a name or number fr om the list, pres s and hold it, and then tap delete item . T o clear the entire list, tap ... , and then tap delete all .
24 P eople People About the People hub When y ou set up your email and other ac counts on your phone , your contacts ar e imported automatically int o your People hub . Y ou’ll be able to see c ontacts from y our Window s Live, Fac ebook, as well as other email ac counts lik e Google and Outlook (Microsoft Ex change Activ eSync).
25 People If y ou signed in to y our Window s Live acc ount when you first set up the phone , y our contacts fr om those acc ounts will appear in the contacts list when y ou first open People. Contact informa tion When y ou tap a contact on the People hub, the pr ofile screen opens, sho wing you the person’ s contact details.
26 People Importing c ontacts fr om y our SIM card On the Start scr een, tap the People tile. In all of the People hub, tap import SIM c ontacts . If y ou hav e an acc ount alr eady set up, pr ess and hold people on top of the scr een, and then tap settings .
