2 LifeBook V Series Notebook BIOS V Series BIOS BIOS SETUP UTILITY The BIOS Setup U tility is a program that sets up the operating en vironment for y our notebook. Y our BIOS is set at the factory for nor mal operating conditions, therefor e there is no need to set or change the BIOS environment to op erate your noteboo k.

5 Drive0 Selects Drive0 submenu The produ ct number of the hard drive. Display the type of device on this A T A/A T API interface, if ther e is one. Pressing the Enter key sele cts the Drive0 submenu allowing additional device configurati on opti ons for this interface.

9 ADVANCED MENU – SETTING DEVICE FEATURE CONTROLS The Ad vanced M enu allows y ou to: ■ Set the keyboar d and mouse features. ■ Select between the display panel and an e xternal CR T display or video projector . ■ Enable or disable compensation for your display .

23 BOOT MENU – SELECTING THE OPERATING SYSTEM SOURCE The Boot Me nu is used to select the order in which the BIOS searches sources for the operating system. 25 Exiting from Boot Menu W hen you hav e finished setting the boot paramet ers with the Boot menu, y ou can either exit from the setup utility or move t o another menu. If y ou wish to exit from the setup utility press the Esc key to g o to the Exit menu.
26 LifeBook V Series Notebook BIOS INFO MENU - DISPLAYS BA SIC SYSTEM INFORMATI ON The Info menu is a display only scr eens that provides the configuration i nformation for y our notebook. The following table shows the names of the menu fields for the Info men u and the information displayed in those fields.

28 LifeBook V Series Notebook BIOS Discard Changes Selecting Discard Changes will load the pr evious values in BIOS memory for all menu fields. The message Load previous now? [Y es] [No] will be displayed. When confirmed the set up utility will return to the E xit menu.
