12 LifeBook S7000 Notebook BATTERY CHARGING INDICATORS Located to the left of each of the Batte r y Level indicat ors is a small arrow symbol. This symbol sta tes whether that specific battery is charging . This indicator will flash if the battery is too hot or cold to charge.

16 LifeBook S7000 Notebook DRAGGING Dragging means pressing and holding the left button, while moving the cursor . T o drag, move the cursor t o the item you wish to mo ve. Pr ess and hold the left button while moving the item to its new location and then release it.

37 User Installable Features Lithium ion Battery Y our LifeBook notebook has a Lithium ion battery that pro vides power for operating your notebook when no external po wer sourc e is available. The batt ery is dur able and long lasting , but should not be expos ed to extreme temperatures, high voltages, chemic als or other haza rds.
38 LifeBook S7000 Notebook Dead Battery Suspend mode sho ws on the Status indi- cator just lik e the normal Suspend mode. Once your notebook goes into Dead Battery Suspend mode you will be unable t o resume operation until y ou pr ovide a source of power either fr om an adapter , or a charged battery .

44 LifeBook S7000 Notebook SMART CARD READER An embedded Smart Card Reader is pro vided on your LifeBook notebook. Smart Cards are the same size and shape as credit cards, but th ey contain an integrated microproc essor chip.
45 User Installable Features Memory Upgrade Module Y our Fujitsu LifeBook notebook comes with a minimum of 256 MB of high speed Do uble Data Rate S ynchronous Dynamic RAM (DDR 333 SDRAM) factory installed. T o increase yo ur LifeBook notebook ’ s memory capacity , you may install an additional me mory upgrade module.
46 LifeBook S7000 Notebook CHECKING THE MEMORY CAPACITY Once you ha ve changed the system memor y capacit y by replacing the installed module with a larger one, be sure to check that yo ur notebook has recognized the change. Check the me mor y capacity by c licking [Start] -> Settings -> Control P anel, then double-clicking the Syste m icon.

63 T roublesho oting The Built-in Displa y has bright or dark spots. If the spots are very tiny and few in number , this is normal for a large L CD display . This is normal; do nothing. If the spots are numer ous or large enou gh to inter fere with your operation needs.
