2 LifeBook A Series BIOS A Series BIOS BIOS SETUP UTILITY The BIOS Setup U tility is a program that sets up the operating en vironment for y our notebook. Y our BIOS is set at the factory for nor mal operating conditions, therefor e there is no need to set or change the BIOS environment to op erate your noteboo k.

4 LifeBook A Series BIOS INFO MENU - DISPLAYS BA SIC SYSTEM INFORMATI ON The Info M enu is a display only scr een that provides the configuration i nformation for y our notebook. The following table shows the names of the menu fields for the Info men u and the information displayed in those fields.
5 SYSTEM MENU – SETTING STAN DARD SYSTEM PARAMETERS The Sy stem M enu allows you to set or view the current system parameters. (See N avigating through the Setup Utility on pa ge 2 for more informat ion.
6 LifeBook A Series BIOS Drive0 Selects the Drive0 Serial A T A drive submenu The product number of the hard drive. Display the type of device on this A T A/IDE interface. Pressing the Enter key selects the Serial A T A Drive0 submenu allowing additional device configuration o ptions for this interface.

9 Exiting from System Menu W hen you ha ve finished setting the parameters on this menu, y ou can either exit from the setup utility , or move to another menu. If y o u wish to exit from the setup utility , pr ess the [Esc] key or use the cursor keys to go to the Exit menu.
10 LifeBook A Series BIOS ADVANCED MENU – SETTING DEVICE FEATURE CONTROLS The Ad vanced M enu allows y ou to: ■ Set the keyboar d and mouse features. ■ Select between the display panel and an e xternal display . ■ Enable or disable compensation for your display .
11 USB Features W hen selected, opens the USB Features su bmenu to allow you to enable or disable legacy USB devices and SCSI SubClass support. Miscellaneous Configurations When selected, op ens the Miscellaneou s Configur ations submenu to all ow you to enable or disable the power button, W ake Up On LAN, and control volume settings.
