2. Start the pilot by pr essing the gas contr ol knob and turning it to PIL O T . While holding the gas control knob in, press the piezo ignitor sever al times until the pilot light starts. Hold the gas control knob in for 30 seconds. Check that the pilot has fully engulfed the thermocouple assembly (see Figure 3).

Maintenance And Ser vice R OUTINE M AINTENANCE : At least once a year , run through the following procedures to ensure the system is clean and working properly . Check the burner to see if all the ports are clear and clean. Check the pilot to make sure it is not blocked by anything.
10 Maintenance And Ser vice C LEANING D ECORATIVE S URFACES : P ainted and porcelain faces should be wiped with a damp cloth periodically . If a plated face has been purchased, it should be unpacked/unwrapped carefully to avoid getting anything on the surface of the nish, including cleaners, polish and nger prints.

If the R etreat is not installed the fan can be instal led under the rebox, or through an access hole at the lower rear of the unit.
