BOOK 0958-B vi WARNING The following must be strictly adhered to at all times. 1. YOU AS THE O WNER OR OPERATOR OF FINCOR EQUIPMENT HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE USERS OF THIS EQU IPMENT TRAINED IN ITS OPERATIO NS AND WARNED O F ANY POTENTIAL HAZARDS OF SERIOUS INJURY.
BOOK 0958- B 1 SECTION I GENERAL INFORMATION INTRODUCTION This manual contains installation, op eration, and mainten ance and repair in structions for Finco r Series 2330 MKII Single-Phase Adju stable-Speed DC Mot or Controllers. A part s list, ratings and specifications, and drawing s are also included.
BOOK 0958-B 2 MOTOR SELECTION Series 2330MKII Controllers control the operation of general purpose DC motors designed for use with solid-state rectified power supplies. The motor may be shunt-wound, stabilized shunt-wound, or permanent magnet. For maximum efficienc y, the motor should be rated for operation from a NEMA Code K p ower supply.
BOOK 0958- B 3 SECTION II INSTALLATION Before starting the installa tion, read this section thoroughly. In addition, a thorough re view of the Ratings an d Specifications (Section VI) is recommen ded. The followin g instal lation guidelines should be ke pt in mind wh en installi ng th e controller.
BOOK 0958-B 4 5. ISOLATION T RANSFORME R - While not required , an isolation transformer can provide the follo wing advantages: a. Reduce the risk of person al injury if high voltage drive circuits are a ccidentally touched. b. Provide a barrie r to externally generated AC supp ly transi ents.
BOOK 0958- B 5 INSTALLING TH E CONTROLLER 1. Remove the controller front co ver (if used) by removing the four cover screws. 2. Check components in the controller for ship ping damage. Report shipping damage to the carrier. 3. Check the controller and motor data labels to be sure the units are electrically compatible.
BOOK 0958-B 6 9. If the controller con tains any options that re quire external wiring, follow the wi ring instructions in the instruction sheet supplied with the option. 10. If rem o te operator control wiring and/ or sign al w irin g is requ ired , c onnec t th e co ntro ller as shown in the appropriate connection diagram (Figures 3 through 1 8).
