10 © 2001 Directed Electr onics , Inc . Y our system can be armed while drivin g the vehi cle! Simply press and h old on your tran smitter for 1.5 secon ds while the vehicle is runnin g or the i gnition is on. Th e system will chirp once and th en once m ore to in dicate that th e igniti on is on.

This pr events you from havin g to disable the system sh ould you wish to stop the tri gger ed sequence with out visually ch ecking th e vehicle . Pressin g the disarm button again, after r esetting th e system, will disarm the system.
13 © 2001 Directed Electr onics , Inc . A Ghost Switch is actu ally a factory switch that alr eady e xists in your vehicle that can be set up to fun ction as an opti onal protected disarm switch. An y factory switch in your vehi cle may be used as long as it switch es positive voltage .

Simply press bri efly befor e arming or disarming, an d the confirmati on chirp(s) will be eliminated f or that one oper ation only . If you want th e arm/disarm chirps turned o ff permanen tly , your dealer can d o this for you.

U sing a person al computer , your dealer can pr ogram man y of th e system settings . The computer m akes it possible to progr am differen t settings f or each tran smitter that is used with the system.

V ehicle Reco very Sy stem (VRS ® ) The opti onal V ehicle Recovery System featur e is design ed to ensur e that any un authorized user o f your vehicle (even if usin g your keys and r emote con trol) will n ot be able to perman ently separ ate you from your vehi cle .
26 © 2001 Directed Electr onics , Inc . T o arm the VRS, press th e arm button on the r emote while the vehicle’s i gnition is on. On ce the system is arm ed, it will g o into its trigg ered sequen ce (see below) if any d oor is opened an d closed.
