Y our r emote is pow- ered by a mini ature 3-volt battery , type 2032, that lasts approxim ately one year un der n ormal use . When th e battery weakens , the LED on the r emote will dim an d operating r ang e will be redu ced.

T ransmitter Functions Y our vehi cle security system is programm able , making it possible to assign an y button on the r emote to any specifi c receiver fun c- tion. Th e tran smitter initially comes pr ogramm ed with the Stand ard Configur ation, but m ay also be customized by an authorized dealer .

Y ou can arm th e security system and lock your vehicle’s d oors (if connected) by pr essing f or one secon d.
8 © 1999 Directed Electr onics, Inc . NOTE: If any pr otected entry point (such as a d oor or switch-protected trunk or hood) is open, P assive Arming will n ot engage . Additi onally , each tim e a sensor is tri ggered d uring the 30-second armin g countdown, th e count- down starts over .
9 © 1999 Directed Electr onics, Inc . This feature allows you to disarm th e security system without th e rem ote tran smitter , in case that the tran smitter is lost, dam aged or disabled. T o disarm the system with out a tran smitter , you must have the vehi cle’s igniti on key an d know wh ere th e V alet switch is located.
