9 2.2 Threshold Resistance Settings for the 3M ™ Shoes and Wrist Strap T ester 747 The test results indicated b y the front panel LEDs are deter mined by comparison of the measured value with the threshold resistance settings (upper and lo w er limits).
10 2.3 Power Preparation 2.3.1 Installing and Replacing the Batteries Important Notes: • T o avoid electric shock when r eplacing the batteries, turn the pow er switch off and disconnect the all cab les befor e beginning . Also, after r eplacing the batteries, always r eplace the co ver befor e using the unit.
11 2.3.2 AC Adapter Connection This 3M ™ Shoes and Wrist Strap T ester 747 can be operated from six “ AA” alkaline batteries or the supplied AC adapter . The A C adapter has priority , so when the batteries are installed and the adapted is connected , battery po w er is not drained.
12 Important Note: When oper ating on batteries, the pow er saver function minimizes battery dr ain, although a very small amount of curr ent is still requir ed by the tester .

17 Open-Collector Output • When the SIGNAL OUT s witch is set to ALL: The output transistor switches on when the results of the shoe and wrist strap test are OK. When making alter nating shoe/wrist strap tests, the type of test to be conducted next is indicated b y the blinking symbol on the LCD and the blinking LED .
