11 Icon The AM/PM icon indicates the time before or after noon. Icon The alarm clock mode icon indicates that the alarm clock mode is active. 17 P age Recognition Mode The transceiver will leave a zone icon illuminated when it has received a trigger ed response and will wait for violation recogni- tion.
18 passive arming The system can be programmed to arm automatically . This is called passive arming. In passiv e arming mode the system will arm itself 30 seconds after the user exits the vehicle and closes all protected entry points. P assive arming sequence 1.
19 vehicle protection F ollowing are descriptions of the many ways this system pr otects the vehicle. 20 warning response description A warning Response consists of an alarm page along with the responses described below . ➤ S S h h o o c c k k S S e e n n s s o o r r - Light impacts to the vehicle will flash the vehicle lights and chirp the siren for a few seconds.
21 ➤ D D o o o o r r T T r r i i g g g g e e r r - If a door is opened the siren will chirp for three seconds, then the siren will sound and the lights will flash for the programmed duration and report Zone 3.
22 arming/disarming while driving The alarm system can operate while the vehicle is being driven for added safety when driving through areas of questionable security . The alarm will only respond to the door trigger inputs and the starter kill will be activated.
23 remote sensor bypass Remote S ensor Bypass allows y ou to select which of the system's inputs or sensors will be active and which will be bypassed when the system is armed.
24 disarming P ress to disarm the system. The vehicle’ s lights will flash twice, the doors will unlock, the siren will chirp twice and the status LED will turn off. The transceiver will beep twice (or vibrate), and the disarm icon (29) will be displayed on the LCD.
25 P ressing any button to clear the transceiver page and within the first six seconds will stop the trigger response and disarm the system. The six second timer is there for y our convenience in case the system was accidentally triggered.
26 silent arm/disarm T o temporarily turn off the arm or disarm chirps, use silent arm/disarm. Simply press for less than one second before arming or disarming, and the confirmation chirp(s) will be elim- inated for that one operation only . When silent arm/disarm has been used the silent arm/disarm mode icon will indicate silent arm/disarm.
27 panic mode If you are thr eatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract attention by triggering the system with your transceiver . J ust press for two seconds, and you will enter panic mode. The siren will sound and the parking lights will flash.
28 The status LED will light solidly if you are entering o verride mode, and it will go out if you are exiting o verride mode. The transceiver will not generate a page notification when entering or exiting override mode using the o verride switch. T o enter or exit o verride mode using the transceiver: 1.
29 T o remote start the vehicle: 1. Simultaneously pr ess and on the transceiver for one second. 2. The parking lights will flash to confirm that the vehicle will attempt to start.
30 When you are read y to drive the vehicle: 1. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON (not the ST AR T) position. 2. P ress the brake pedal. T o shut down the remote start and turn off the eng.
31 override take-over The Override T ake-Over feature allows the vehicle to r emain running after the key has been remov ed from the ignition. This feature is useful for occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would like to leave the motor running and the climate controls on.
32 Then press to advance the minute selection or to reverse the minute selection. Once the corr ect time is displayed simply stop pressing any buttons for 10 seconds and the trans- ceiver will automatically exit the clock mode. temperature check mode This system will report the interior temperature of your v ehicle with the press of two buttons.
33 s s a a f f e e t t y y f f e e a a t t u u r r e e s s This system has several important safety features to ensure proper operation of the motor and prevent accidental damage to the engine or its components.
34 over and under rev protection The system monitors the engine speed and will automatically shut the engine off if the RPMs rise above or fall belo w the programmed levels. This feature prevents damage to the motor due to fuel delivery system failures or other problems which may cause the engine to race.
35 Example If the alarm triggers three times within a 60-minute period and each time the same sensor or switch triggers the alarm, false alarm prevention circuitry will interpret those triggers as false alarms.
36 d d i i a a g g n n o o s s t t i i c c s s The microprocessor at the heart of your system is constantly monitoring all of the switches and sensors connected to it. I t is designed to detect any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them from disabling the entire system.
37 gered so many times that the false alarm prev ention circuitr y has bypassed that zone. I n either case, the status LED and transceiver LCD will indicate which zone was trigger ed (see T able of Zones section).
38 table of zones A zone is repr esented by the LED flashes used by the system to identify a particular type of input. Standar d input assignments are listed in the following table.
39 ➤ Arming and disarming diagnostics (including warning responses) are r eported by the transceiver on the LCD. ➤ When an open zone notification is generated during arming the transceiver LCD will flash until the alarm is r eset by the ignition. ➤ T o review zones that have been bypassed press 10 seconds after arming the system.
40 ever , if the transceiver has been pressed many times out of range of the vehicle, or the battery has been remov ed, it may fall out of sync with the control unit and fail to operate the system. T o re- sync the transceiver simply press several times within range of the vehicle.
41 p p o o w w e e r r - - u u p p This system will store its current state to non-v olatile memor y . If power is lost and then r econnected the system will recall the stored state from memory .
42 p p r r o o g g r r a a m m m m i i n n g g o o p p t t i i o o n n s s P rogramming options control your system's normal, operational set-up. M ost options do not requir e additional par ts, but some may require installation labor . The following is a list of the programmable options, with the factory settings in Bold.
43 ➤ F orced passive arming o o n n or off. If y our security system is programmed for passive arming and the forced passiv e arming feature has been programmed on, the system will passively arm after one hour , even if a protected entry has been left open.
44 car , it will be necessar y to disarm the system with the trans- ceiver . It is also possible to disarm the AED featur e by turning the ignition key to the R UN position and pressing the override switch the pr ogrammed number of times. AED is also disabled when the system is in override mode.

47 Input: A physical connection to the system. An input can be provided b y a sensor , pinswitch or by existing systems in the vehicle, such as ignition or courtesy lights. LED: A blue light mounted at a discretionary location inside the vehicle. I t is used to indicate the status of your system and as a visual deterrent.
48 W arning Response: Lighter impacts to the vehicle will generate the warning response. I t consists of several seconds of siren chirps and parking light flashes. Zone: A zone is a separate input that the alarm can recognize as unique. Each input to the system is connected to a particular zone.
