The feed and eject methods a nd le ver positions f or each doc ument type are as f ollows.
27 3 When scanning long documents, pull out the feed extension plates and eject support. 4 Set the feed se lection l ever and the eject sel ection le ver. Set the feed selection lever to th e standard fe eding positio n (lower po sition). Set the eject selecti on lever to the U-turn pa th position ( ).
28 6 Place the d ocument. Insert the document in the feed tray so that th e front is fa cing forward a nd the top is fa cing upward . After inse rting the d ocument in the document feeder, a lign the doc ument guides w ith both ed ges of the docu ment.

70 Configuring the following settings allows you to scan a document o f an unregistered page size. When scanning a document of a non-s tandard page size, select [Add/ Delete] f or [P age Size] to displa y the [Add/Delete P age Siz e] dialog bo x. Name and register the unregistered page size in [Page Siz e].
71 Select the [Set Scann ing Area] check bo x and then specify the area of the document to be scanned.
