9 Us i n g y o u r S y ne r g y 9 0 0 Making a n d r ece i v i ng ca ll s T o make a call • Press the TA L K button to get a line. Display shows . The IN-USE light on the base station comes on. • Enter the number you want and it is dialled. Or to preview the number befor e you call • Enter the number you want.
10 T o page the handset • Press and r elease the blue P AGE button on the base station. The handset rings for about 10-12 seconds. Display shows PAGE and the flashes. Paging is useful to help you find a misplaced handset. Y ou cannot hold a conversation between the handset and the base station.
11 T o store a quickdial number Once you have selected either your ‘Personal’ or ‘Shared’ QUICKDIAL stor e: • Press and r elease the QUICKDIAL button • LCD shows 1 if no number stored or 1 followed by the number stored in the memor y .
T o dial a quickdial number This dials from the quickdial memor y , SHARED or PERSONAL , which is cur r ently selected. • Press the T ALK button. • Press the QUICKDIAL button. • Press the location 0-9 wher e the quickdial number you want is stored.
T o adjust the handset ringer volume The handset ringer can be set to LOW , HI or OFF . • Press the ➔ button several times until display shows SET UP . • Press the ✔ button. Display shows HANDSET . • Press the ✔ button. Display shows LEVEL .

18 • Press the ✔ button. Display shows the first personal emergency number . T o scroll thr ough the numbers press the ➔ button until the number you wish to view or edit is displayed. • T o edit, pr ess the ✔ button. • Press the ✗ button which will delete the digits one at a time.
19 Setting your own base station PIN code Y ou can set your own four-digit code number for your Synergy 900 base station. This prevents unauthorised users from r egistering or de-registering handsets on your Synergy 900 base station. • Pr ess the ➔ button until the display shows SET UP .
Cal l Div ersi o n Y ou can use your Synergy 900 to r equest the network to diver t incoming calls to another number . Y ou can choose to diver t: – all calls; – calls that are not answer ed within 5 rings; or – calls when your line is already engaged.
• Select the displayed option by pr essing the ✔ button. The handset automatically sends a sequence of tones to the network exchange. Display shows PLS LISTEN and you hear a network announcement. • Follow the instr uctions fr om the network announcement.
Fr i e n d s an d Fa m i l y This is where the telephone number of the Friends & Family ser vice is pre-programmed into your Synergy 900, enabling you to dial the Friends & Family ser vice and follow the instr uctions from the network to add or change numbers.

25 Display briefly shows PLS WAIT then the base station to which your handset is register ed, e.g. BASE 1 , and finally shows the handset number you have given it, e.g. HSET 1 . T o de-register your handset • Press the ➔ button several times until the display shows SET UP .
26 T o end an intercom call • Press the INTERCOM button. Or • Replace the handset on the base station or charger . 31 When connecting your Synergy 900 to a switchboard/PBX, you may need to change the dialling mode setting from T ime Br eak Recall ( TB ) to Ear th Recall ( E ). T o switch between Time Break Recall and Earth Recall The original setting is T ime Break Recall.
Ma i n te n a n c e Ge ne r al Simply clean the Synergy 900 and any additional handsets and chargers with a damp cloth (not wet) or an antistatic wipe.

No dial tone Is the Synergy 900 telephone line cord plugged into the phone socket? Check that the base station is connected to the mains power and switched on. Y ou cannot link up with the base station If the display shows REG, the handset must be register ed with the Synergy 900.

Do not stand it on carpets or other sur faces which generate fibres or place it in locations which prevent the free flow of air over its sur faces.
