18 Power Supply GETTING STARTED Battery After making sure that the power is off, remove the rear cover on the b ack of the machine. If the batteries are already in the machine, remove them.

Connect the AC adapter directly to the P-touch labeler. Insert the plug on the AC adapter cord into the connector marked DC I N 12V on the P-touch labeler.

22 Insertin g a Tape Cassette GETTING STARTED Tape cassettes of 0. 13", 0.23", 0.35", 0.47" or 0.7 0" (3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm or 18mm) width can be used in your P-touch labeler. Use only Brother tape cas settes with the mark. Check that the end of the tape is not bent and that it passes through the tape guide.

24 Setting Language and Unit GETTING STARTED Back Light You can change the back light settin g either to ON or OFF. The display is easier to see wit h the bac k light ON. Th e default setting is "ON". Press the Menu key to display the Set up menu, select "Backlight" using t he or key, and then press the OK or Enter key.

EDITING A LABEL 26 Entering and Editing Text Adding a New Line • To end the c urrent line of text and start a new line, press the Enter key. A retu rn mark appears at the end of the line and the cursor moves to the start of the new line.

54 Storing a Label into Memory USING THE FILE MEMORY You can store up to 50 of y our most frequently used la bels in the file memory. Each label is stored as a file, allowing you to quickly an d easily recall your label when needed again. After entering the t ext and formatting the label, press the File key to display t he File screen.

56 Resetting the P-touch Labe ler RESETTING & MAINTAINING YOUR P-TOUCH LABELER You can reset the inte rnal memory of your P- touch labeler when you want to clear all saved label files, or in the event th e P-touch labeler is not operat ing correctly.
