Printing Methods 2 1 Acceptable paper and other print media 1 Print quality may vary according to the type of paper you are using. You can use the following types of print media: plain paper, thin paper, thick paper, thicker paper, bond paper, recycled paper, labels, envelo pes or glossy pap er (see Print media on page 204).
Printing Meth ods 3 1 1 Folio size is 8.5 in. 13 in. (215.9 mm x 330.2 mm) . 2 Load only one sheet of Glossy in the MP tray. 3 Tray 2 is standard on HL-L8350CDWT. Recommended paper specifications 1 The following paper specifications are appropriate for this machine: Use plain paper that is appropriate for laser machine s to make copies.
Printing Methods 4 1 Handling and using special paper 1 The machine is designed to work well with most types of xerographic and bond paper. However, some paper variables may have an effect on print quality or hand ling reliability. Always test samples o f paper before purchasing to ensure desirable performance.
Printing Methods 5 1 Envelopes 1 Most envelopes can be used with your machine. Ho wever, some envelopes may h ave feed and print-quality problems because of the way they have been made. Envelopes should have edges with straight, well-creased folds. Envelopes should lie flat a nd not be of baggy or flimsy c onstruction.
Printing Methods 6 1 • with sealing flaps th at are not folded down when purchased • with each side folded as shown in the figure below If you use any of the types of envelopes list ed above, they may damage you r machine. Printing Methods 9 1 b While pressing the blue paper-guide release levers (1), slide the paper guides to fit the size of paper you are loading in the tray. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots. c Fan the stack of paper well to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.

29 2 2 Printer driver 2 A printer driver is software that translates data from the fo rmat used by a computer to the f ormat that a particular printer needs.
Driver and Softwa re 30 2 Printing a document 2 When the machine receives data from your computer , it begins printing by picking up paper from the pape r tray, multi-purpose tray or optional lower tray. Th e multi-purpose tray can feed many types of paper and envelopes (see Paper Tray Capacity o n page 3).
