5 Toner - LED indicates when the Toner is low or empty. Drum - LED in dicates when the Dr um is nearing end of life. Paper - LED indicates when there is Cover op en or a paper jam. Ready - LED indicates when th e printer is ready or if Data is remaining.

7 Setting Up Your Printer Do NOT connect the interface ca ble. You will be prompted to connect the interface cable during the driver installation. 1 Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The opening screen will appear automatically. Select your printer model and the langua ge.

You will be prompted to connect the interface cable during the driver installation. 1 Open the front cover of the printer. 2 Unpack the drum unit assembly. 3 Rock it from side to side several times to distribute the toner evenly inside th e assembly.
9 1 Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer. 2 While pressing the paper guide release lever, slide the adjusters to fit the paper size. Check that the guides are firmly in the slots. 3 Fan the stack of paper we ll to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.
10 Setting Up Your Printer Do NOT connect the inte rface cable. You will be prompted to connect the interface cable during the driver installation. 1 Make sure that the printer power switch is off. Connect the AC power cord to the printer. 2 Plug the AC power cord into an AC outlet.

12 Installing the Driver Installing the driver and connec ting the printe r to your PC 1 Make sure the USB interface cable is NOT connected to the printer, and then beg in installing the driver. If you have already connected the cable, remove it. 2 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen.
13 6 Click the Finish button. For Windows ® 98/Me users: The Setup is now complete. For Windows ® 2000/XP users: Go to "Setting Your Printer as the Default Printer" on the next page. 14 Installing the Driver Connecting the printe r to your PC and installing the driver 1 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen. 2 Select the Parallel interface . 3 Turn off the printer power switch. 4 Connect the parallel interface cable to your PC, and then connect it to your printer.
15 Connecting the printer to your network and installing the driver 1 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen. 2 Select the Network interface . 3 Turn off the printer power switch. 4 Connect the network interface cable to the printer, and then connect it to a free port on your hub.
16 Installing the Driver 8 For LPR Users : Select Search the network for devices and choose from a list of disco vered devices (Recommended) . Or enter your printer's IP address or its node name. Click the Next button. For NetBIOS Users : Select Search the network for devices and choose from a list of disco vered devices (Recommended) .
17 Installing the driver and selecting the appropriate printer queue or 'share name' 1 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen. 2 Select the Network interface . 3 Read the license agreement carefully. Then f ollow the o n-screen instructions.
18 Installing the Driver Connecting the printe r to your Macintosh & installing the driver 1 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen. 2 For HL-2030/2040 users: Select the USB interface . For HL-2070N users: Select the USB interface . 3 Connect the USB interface cable to your Macintosh, and th en connect it to the printer.
19 7 Open the Printer Setup Utility icon. 8 Click Add . 9 Select USB . 0 Select the appropriate printer, and then click the Add button. A From the Printer Setup Utility menu, select Quit Printer Setup Utility .
20 Installing the Driver Connecting the printe r to your Macintosh & installing the driver 1 Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Open the Mac OS 9 folder. 2 Open your language folder. 3 Double-click the Printer Driver Installer icon to install the printer driver.
21 Connecting the printer to your Macintosh & installing the driver 1 Click Install Printer Driver on the Menu screen. 2 Select the Network interface and follow the on screen instructions. 3 Turn off the printer power switch. 4 Connect the network interface cable to the printer, and then connect it to a free port on your hub.
22 8 Double-click the Printer Setup Utility icon. 9 Click Add . 0 Make the following selection. A Select Brother HL-2070N series , and then click the Add button. B From the Printer Setup Utility menu, select Quit Printer Setup Utility . The setup is now complete.

25 The Brother print server is equipped with a web se rver that allows you to monitor its status or change some of its co nfiguration settings, using HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). If you wish to reset the print server back to its default fa ctory settings (including password), please follow these steps: 1 Turn off the printer.
26 ■ Other Information If for any reason you must ship your Printer, carefully pack age the Printer to avoid any damage during transit. We recommend that you save and use the original packaging. The Printer should also be adequately insur ed with the carrier.
