ST ART-U P For initial start-up, or if the br ew er has n ot been used for an extended period of tim e: Be sure spray disk and brew gasket are properly installed in the brew head. For automatic brewers, be sure the water suppl y is properly connected and the water su pply valve is turned ON .
OPERATION (continued) WATER HEATER Water temperat ure is sen sed b y a thermobulb insert ed into the w ater tank. This temperature signal is fed to the thermostat, which controls line power to the heating elemen t. The setpoint temperature is adjustable at the therm ostat.
BREWING COFFEE CA UTION : Burn Hazard Exposed surfaces of the brewer, brew chamber and airpot or ser ve r m ay be HOT to the to uch, and can cause serious burn s. CA UTION: Burn Hazard To avoid splashing or overf lowing hot liquids , ALWAYS place an empty airpot or server under the brew ch amber before starting the brew cycle .
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS PROCEDURE: Clean Coffee Brewe r PRECAUTIONS: Disconnect brewer fro m electric po wer. Allow brewer to cool. FREQUENCY: Daily TOOLS: Mild Detergent, Clean Soft Cloth or S ponge Bristle Brush, Bottle Brush 1. Disconnect brewer from electric power.

SERVICING INSTRUCTIO NS ACCESS PANELS TOP PANEL: Remove top panel to access hot water tank, thermostat, he ating elements, brew circuit tubing, faucet valve and piping. Top panel is held by two screw s at the rear and a retaining lip a t the front. FRONT PANEL: Remove front panel to access timer, terminal block and sole noid.
SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS (continued) TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF. Remove top panel. Pull vent tube out of tank lid an d insert a thermometer of know n accuracy in vent hole. Reconnect brewer to electrical power. Place an empty container under brew chamber.
SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS (continued) IMPORTA N T : W ater pressure must be betwee n 20 p.s.i and 90 p.s.i. flowing pressure. If wate r pressure exceeds this value, or if water pressure varies g reatly, a pressure regulator must be installed in the w ater supply line.
SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS (continued) 14 REPLACE SOLENOID Symptom: Automatic brewer will not flow water; or, automatic brewer d rips continuously from brew head. Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF . Turn OFF and disconnect w a ter sup ply from brewer inlet fitting.
SERVICING INSTRUCTI ONS (continued) 15 IMPORTA N T : W hen rep lacing water faucet coil, also rep l ace seal gaskets. NOTE : Any ab ra sion or roughness on the flat end of the seat cup will re quire replacing the seat cup: Work the seat cup out of the bonnet and off of the end of the stem.
CA UTI ON - CH EMICA L BURN HA ZA RD Deliming chem icals are caustic. W ear ap pr op riate protective gloves and goggles during this procedure. Never siphon deliming chemicals or solutions by mou th . This operation should only be perfo rm e d by qualifie d an d ex- perienced service personnel.
7. Set the ta nk back into the brewer. Reassemb le the ta nk lid to the w ater t ank. Make sure the gasket is properly in place, then reinstall the hold-do w n strap. 8. Reinstall wiring to heating element and ther m ostat. Reinstall the hi-lim it ther mostat (if removed).
