41 ENGLISH Detachable control panel Theft prot ection The device is equipped with a de tachable control panel (fl ip-r elease panel) as a way of prot ecting your equipment against theft.
42 Switch-off time (OFF TIMER) After opening the control panel, the de vice is switched off after an adjustable time. Y ou can set this time fr om 0 to 30 seconds. Press the MENU•OK butt on 5 . Press the or butt on 4 repeatedly until the display s shows "OFF TIMER".
43 ENGLISH Adjusting the volume Y ou can adjust the volume in increments from 0 (off) to 66 (maximum). T o increase the volume, turn the volume contr ol 7 clockwise. T o decrease the volume, turn the volume contr ol 7 counter - clockwise. Setting the pow er-on v olume Y ou can set the power -on volume.

45 ENGLISH Radio mode This device is equipped with an RDS radio receiv er . Many of the receivable FM stations broadcast a signal that not onl y carries the programme but also additional inf ormation such as the station name and programme type (PT Y).

Switching the RDS function on/off T o switch the RDS functions AF and REGIONAL on or off, press and hold the TRAF butt on 3 for longer than two seconds. 51 ENGLISH CD mode Y ou can use this device to pla y standard audio CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs with a dia- meter of 12 or 8 cm. Caution! Labelled or shaped CDs can dam- age the CD drive. Do not insert any shape CDs. Do not attach labels t o CDs since the la- bel may de tach during operation.

53 ENGLISH Displaying CD t ext Some CDs include CD te xt. The CD text might contain the names of the artist and the album. The CD te xt is shown as scrolling te xt on the display with e ver y track change. Switching CD te xt on/off Press the MENU•OK butt on 5 .
54 MP3/WMA mode Y ou can also use this car sound system t o play CD-Rs and CD-R Ws that contain MP3 music fi les. Y ou can also play WMA fi les. This chapters deals only with pla ying MP3 fi les since the operation for MP3 and WMA fi les is identical.

60 Clock – Time Setting the time T o set the time, press the MENU•OK butt on 5 . Press the or button 4 r epeat- edly until "CL OCK SET" appears on the display . Press the button 4 to open the menu. The time appears on the display . The min- utes ar e fl ashing and can be adjusted.
61 ENGLISH Sound Y ou can adjust the sound settings (bass, middle and treble) separat ely for eac h source (radio, CD, CD changer , AUX, traf- fi c announcement, telephone/na vigation). The volume distribution settings (balance and fader) and X -BASS apply t o all the au- dio sources e xcept for traffi c announce- ments and telephone/na vigation.

63 ENGLISH X- B A S S X -Bass allows y ou to increase the bass at low volume. The selected X -Bass setting is effective f or all audio sources (radio, CD, CD changer or AUX). The X -BASS increase can be se t in incre- ments of 1 to 3. "XBASS OFF" means that the X -BASS func- tion is switched off.
64 Adjusting the display settings Adjusting the display brightness If your car sound sy stem is installed as de- scribed in the installation instructions and your v ehicle featur es the corresponding connection, the display brightness f or day and night is switched b y switching on the vehicle lighting.
65 ENGLISH Activating/deactivating demo mode In demo mode, the functions of the device are shown on the displa y as scrolling te xt. The constant colour change demonstrates the setting options of the displa y colours. Pressing an y button interrupts the demo mode for appr ox.
