2 Getting to Kno w Your ZSR4154WS Top Panel LED Indicator Status Description POWER ON ZSR4154WS is switched on and correctly powere d SYS Flashing Indicates the system works normally. ON Indicates WA N port is connected WAN Flashing Indicates WAN activity (transferring or receiving data) WLAN Flashing Indicates the wireless signal is OK.

4 Chapter 2 Hardware Instal lation Please follow the following instruct ion to build the ne twork connection between your ZSR4154WS and y our computers, ne twork devices: 1. Connect the power adapter to the wall socket, and then connect it to the Power socket of ZSR41 54WS .
5 3. Connect your xDSL / cable modem to the WAN port of ZSR4154WS by Ethernet cable. 4. Please check all LEDs on the top panel. POWER LED should b e steadil y on, WAN and LAN LEDs should be on if the computer / ne twork devi ce connected to the respective port of ZSR4154WS is powered on and corr ec tl y connected.

10 Chapter 4 Basic Configur ations This section is to s how you h ow to configure your n ew ZSR4 154WS th rough the W eb-based Configuration Utility . How to Access t he Web-based Conf iguration Utility 1.
11 Setup Wizard 1. When Welcome to Setup W izard pop out, Click Next to continue. 2. Select one Internet connection type you’re using. If y ou’re not sure, clic k Detect or contact your Internet Service Provider . a. ADSL Virtual Dial-up (Via PPPoE) Enter the Account and P assword provided by your ISP .
12 c. Static IP Fill the network address information from your ISP in the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and Primary DNS server fields. d. L2TP Enter the Account and Password provided by your ISP . L2TP (Lay er 2 T unneling Protocol) provides two address modes.
13 3. Click Apply and re boot ZSR4154WS, or select Re boot in System Tools of the left menu and click Reboot the router button. 4. While rebooting, please wait for fe w minutes and DO NOT power off . 5. Select Syst em Stat us from the left menu to find out the current network and system information.
14 Chapter 5 Advanced Settings LAN Settings MAC Address: ZSR41 54WS’ s physi cal MAC address on y o ur local netw ork is unchangeable. IP Address: ZSR 4154WS’ s LAN IP address (not your PC’ s IP address). Once you modify the IP ad dress, you need to remember it for the W eb-based Utility login next time.
15 WAN Settings a. PPPoE Connection Mode: Show your current connection mode. Account: Provided by your ISP . Password: Provided by your ISP . MTU: Maximum T ransmis sion Unit. It is t he size of largest datagram tha t can be sent ov er a netw ork.
16 b. Dynamic IP MTU: Maximum T ransmis sion Unit. It is t he size of largest datagram tha t can be sent ov er a netw ork. The default v a lue is 1500. Do NO T modify it unless necessary . c. Static IP IP Address: Enter the WAN IP address provided by your ISP .
17 d. L2TP L2TP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter L2TP username. Password: Enter L2TP password. MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit, you may n eed to change it for optimal performance with your specific ISP .
18 e. PPTP PPTP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter PPTP username provided by your ISP . Password: Enter PPTP password provided by your ISP . Address Mode: Select Static if your ISP supplies you with the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway .

20 Chapter 6 Wireless Settings Basic Settings Network Mode: Supports 802.11b/g mixed, 802.11 b, 802.11g and 802.11b/g/n mixed modes. SSID: Service Set Identifier . It’s t he name of your wireless network. Broadcast (SSID): Decide if ZSR4154WS will broadcast its own ESSID or not.
21 Security Settings a. Mixed WEP WEP (Wired Equivale nt Privacy) is an encryption method use d to protect your wireless data communications . WEP uses a combi nation of 6 4-bit or 128-bit keys to provide access control to your network and encryption security for every dat a transmission.
22 b. WPA-Personal Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) is an advanced se curit y standard. It uses TKIP an d AES to change the encryption key frequently. WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters.
23 c. WPA2-Personal The WPA2 is a stronger version of WPA. WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters. Key Renewal Interval: Specifies the timer the WPA key must changes.
24 d. Mixed WPA/WPA2-Personal WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters. 26 WPS Settings Wi-Fi Protecte d Setup (WPS) is the simplest way to build connection between wireless network clients and ZSR41 54WS. Y ou don’ t have to select encryption mode and input a long e nc.
27 PIN: if you want to use PIN code, y ou have to know the PIN code of wireless client and switch it to WPS mode, then provide the PIN code of the wireless client you wish to connect to ZSR4154WS. WPS Current Sta tus : : : : Idle means WPS in idle s tate.
28 WDS Mode: Lazy Mode: You need to configure ZSR4154WS’s BSSID into another device, but don’t need to input another device’s BSSID in ZSR4154WS, and they will connect together automatically. Bridge Mode: Y ou c an wirelessly connect two or more wire d networks via this mode.
29 Access Control This function w ill he lp you to prevent unauthorized users from co nnecting t o ZSR4154WS; only those wireless devices who have the MAC addre ss you assigned here can gain access to your Z SR4154WS. 33 DMZ Settings The DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) f unction is to allow one computer in LAN to be exposed to the Internet for a special-purpose service as Int ernet gaming or videoconferencing. DMZ Host IP Address: The IP address of the computer you w ant to expose.
34 Chapter 9 Traffic Control T raffic control is used t o limit communication speed i n the LAN and WAN. Up to 20 entries can be supported wi th the c apability for at most 254 PCs' speed control, including for IP address range configur a tion. Traffic Control: Select the checkbox to enable the internal IP bandwidth control.

36 URL Filter If you want to prevent computers in local networ k from a ccessing certain website (like pornograp hy , violence, or anything you want to block), you can use thi s function to stop computers in local network from accessing the site you defined here.
37 MAC Filter MAC Filtering Settings: Select the checkbox to enable MAC address filter . Access Policy: Select one number from the drop-dow n menu. Enable: Se lect the checkbox to enable the access policy . Delete the Policy: Click Clear button to clear all settings fo r the policy .
38 Remote Web M anagement This function is to allow the network administrator to manage ZSR4154W S remotely . If you w ant to access ZSR415 4WS from outsid e the local netwo rk, please select the Enable . Enable: Select the checkbox to enable remote web management.
39 Chapter 12 Routing Settings Routing Table The main duty for ZSR4 154WS is to look fo r a best path for every data frame, and tran sfer this data frame to destination. So, it’ s essential for ZSR4 154WS to choose the best path. I n order to finish this fu nction, many t ran sferring paths ar e sav ed in ZSR41 54WS for choosing when nee ded.
40 Chapter 13 Sy stem Tools Time Settings This function is to select the time zone for your location. If you turn off ZSR4154WS, the time settings will disappear . However , ZSR4154WS will automatically obtain the GMT time again once it access to the Internet.
41 DDNS: Select one button to enable or disable the DDNS service. Service Provider: Select one from the drop-down menu and press Sign up for registrati on. User Name: Enter the same user name as the registration name. Password: Enter the passwor d you set.
