2 Getting to Kno w Your ZSR4134WE Top Panel LED Indicator Status Description POWER ON ZSR4134WE is switched on and correct ly powered SYS Flashing Indicates the system works normally. ON Indicates WA N port is connected WAN Flashing Indicates WAN activity (tr a nsferring o r r eceiving data) WLAN Flashing Indicates the wireless signal is OK.

4 Chapter 2 Hardware Installation Please follow the following instruction to build the netwo rk connection between your ZSR4134WE and y our computers, network devices: 1. Connect all your computers, network devices (network -enabled consumer devices other than computers, like game c onsole, or switch / hub) to the LAN port o f ZSR4134WE.
5 3. Connect y our xD SL / c abl e modem to the W AN port of ZSR41 34WE by Ethernet cable. 4. Please check all LEDs on the top panel. P OWER LED should be stea dily on, WAN and LAN LEDs should be on if the computer / network device connected to the respectiv e port of ZSR4134WE is powered on and correctly connected.
6 Chapter 3 Connect Your ZSR41 34WE How to Set the Network Config urations for My Computer 1. Right click My Network Places and select Properties 2. Right click Local Area Netwo rk Connection and s elect Propert ies .
7 3. Select Internet Proto col (TCP/IP) and click Properties . 4. Select Obtain a n IP address aut omatically and Obt ain DNS server address automatically .
8 5. Or select Us e the following IP addr ess and enter the IP address, Subnet mask, Default ga tewa y . Of course, you need to input the D NS server address provided by your I SP . Otherw ise, you can use the Z SR4134WE’ s default gateway as the DNS proxy server .
9 How to Check t he Network Conn ection 1. Select Start → → → → Progra ms → → → → A ccessories → → → → Com mand Prompt . 2. Input ping 192.168.0.1 and press Enter . If the scr een displa ys as be low , it means your PC is connected to y our rou ter successfully .
10 Chapter 4 Basic Configurations This se ction is to show you how to configure your new ZSR4134WE through the W eb-based Configuration Utility . How to Access t he Web-based Conf iguration Utility 1.
1 1 Setup Wizard 1. When Welcome to Setup Wiza rd pop out, Click Next to continue. 2. Select one Internet connection type you’re using. If you’re not sure, click Detect or contact your Internet Service Provider . Click Next . a. ADSL Virtual Dial-up (Via PPPoE) Enter the Account and P assword provided by your ISP , and click Next .
12 b. Dynamic IP (Via DHCP) If your connection t ype is Dynamic IP , it means your IP addre ss keeps changing every time y ou connect. Y o u do not ne ed to ent er the information. c. Static IP Fill the network address i nformation from your ISP i n th e IP Ad dress, Subnet Mask, Gateway and Primary DN S server fields and click Next .
13 e. PPTP Enter the Server IP Address, User Name, and Password provided by your ISP PPTP (PP T unneling Pro tocol) provides two address modes. Dynamic IP: If the PPTP offered by your ISP is Dynamic IP , please select Dynamic IP . Static IP: Please fill in the parameters provided by y our ISP .
14 3. Click Apply and re boot ZSR4134WE, or select Reboot in System Tools of the left menu and click Reboot the router button. 4. While rebooting, please wait for few minutes and DO NOT power off . 5. Select Network Status of the left menu to fin d out the current network and system information.
15 Chapter 5 Advanced Settings LAN Settings MAC Address: ZSR4134WE’ s p hysical M AC address on y our local n etwork is unchangeable. IP Address: ZSR4134WE’s LAN IP ad dress (not your PC’ s IP address). Once you modify the IP address, y ou n eed to remember it for the W eb-based Utility login next time.
16 WAN Settings a. PPPoE Connection Mode: Show your current connection mode. Account: Provided by your ISP . Password: Provided by your ISP . MTU: Maximum T ran smission Unit. It is the size of largest datagram that can be sent ov er a networ k.
17 b. Static IP IP Address: Enter the WAN IP address provided by your ISP . Subnet Mask: Enter the WAN Subnet Mask. Gateway: Enter the WAN Gateway . Primary DNS Server: Enter the Primary DNS server provided by y our ISP . Secondary DNS Server: Enter the second address if your ISP provides, which is optional.
18 L2TP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter L2TP username. Password: Enter L2TP password. MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit, you may need to change it for optimal performance with your specific ISP . 14 00 is the default MTU.
19 MAC Address Cl one MAC Address: The MAC address registe red with y our Interne t service provider . Clone MAC address: Regist er your PC's MAC address. Restore default MAC address: Restore the default hardware MAC address. DNS Settings DNS: Choose the checkbox to enable the DNS server .
20 Chapter 6 Wireless Settings Wireless Mode a. AP Mode AP Mode: ZSR4134WE se rves as an access point to be connected. T he work stat ions a round wil l be connected with Z SR4134WE by SSID to share the Internet resources. T o configure the AP mode, open t he Basic Setting and Security Setting windows in the Wireless Setting folder .
21 b. Station Mode Station Mode: ZSR4134WE is used as a work station to be c onnected with an AP by scanning the AP's SSID and provides the secu rity authentication. SSID: SS ID is the unique ID name o f access point. The wireless work station must keep the same SSID name with the AP's for connections.

30 Advanced Wireless Settings ZSR4134WE provides some advanc ed control of wire less parameters, if you want to configure these settings, please click “Wireless” menu o n the left of web managemen.
31 Wireless Acces s Control This fu nction will h elp you to prev ent unauthorized users fr om connecti ng to ZSR4134WE; only those wireless device s who hav e the MAC address you assigned here can gain access to your ZSR4134WE.
32 Chapter 7 DH CP Server These se ttings are only available when DH CP Serv er in LAN IP section is Enable . DHCP Server: Act iv ate t he checkbox to enable DHCP server . IP Address Start/End: Enter the range of IP address for DHCP server distribution.
33 DHCP Server Li st IP Address: Input the IP address for the computer on the LAN network. MAC Address: Ent er the MAC address o f the computer you want to a ssign. And then click Add to add to the list. Hostname: The name of the computer .
34 Chapter 8 Virtual Server Single Port For warding ZSR4134WE can be configured as a virtual server on behalf of local services behind the LAN port . The given remote requests will b e re-directed to t he local servers via the v irtual server . This se ction deals with the single port forwarding mainly .
35 Well-Known Service Port: Select the well-known services as DNS, FTP from the drop-down menu to add to the configured one above. Delete/Enable: Click to check it for cor responding oper ation. NOTE : If you set t he virtua l server of the service p ort as 80 , you must set the Web management p ort on.

39 Chapter 9 Traffic Control T raffic contro l is used to limit communication speed in the LAN and WAN. U p to 20 entries can be supported with the capability for at most 254 PCs' speed control, including for IP address range confi guration. Traffic Control: Select the checkbox to enable the internal IP bandwidth control.

43 Remote Web M anagement This function is to allow the network administrator to manage ZSR4134W E remotely . If y ou want to access ZSR4134 WE from outsid e the local network, please select the Enable . Enable: Select the checkbox to enable remote web management.
44 WAN Ping The ping test is to c heck the status of your intern et connection. When disabling the test, the system will ignore the ping test from WAN.
45 Chapter 11 Routing Settings Routing Table The main duty for ZSR4134WE is to look for a best path for every data fr ame, and tr an sfer this data frame to destinatio n. So , it’ s essential for ZSR4134WE to choose the best path. In order to finish this function, many transferring paths are saved in ZSR413 4WE for choosing when needed.
46 Chapter 12 S ystem Tools Time Settings This function is to select the time zone for your location. If you turn off ZSR4134WE, the time settings will disappear . Howe ver , ZSR4134WE will automatically obtain the GMT time again once it access to the Internet.
47 DDNS: Select one button to enable or disable the DDNS service. Service Provider: Select one from the drop-down menu a nd press Sign up for registrat ion. User Name: Enter the same user name as the registration name. Password: Enter the passwor d you set.
