Setting Up P-255 Owner’s Man u al 11 T o adjust the v olume, use the [MASTER V OLUME] slider at the left of the co ntrol panel while playing the ke yboard to check the setting. T o set up the music rest, insert it into the groo ve at the back of the control pane l.
Setting Up P-255 Owner’s Man u al 12 An LP-255 Pedal Unit (sol d separately) can be con- nected if you wish to play the digit al piano using a full set of three pedals. In such a case, please set up the instrument and pedal unit on an L-255 Keyboard Stand (sold separately).
P-255 Owner’s Man u al 13 Selecting & Pla y ing V oices Using the following procedure, you can select the instrument sound (such as pian o or organ) to use when playing the keyboard. 1 Pr ess a V oice but ton t o select a V oice from the cor responding cat egor y .
Selecting & Playing Voices P-255 Owner’s Man u al 14 Using Dual mode as described belo w , you can layer two V oices on the ke yboard and play them together . By combining V oices of diff erent types in this w ay , you can create a composite V oice of grea ter richness and texture.

Selecting & Playing Voices P-255 Owner’s Man u al 16 Using the digital piano’ s Effect function, you can add a range of dif ferent audio effects to indi vidual V oices. Whenev er you select a V oice, the most suitable effect will be automatically set; ho wev e r , you can freely set the ef fect type and depth.
Selecting & Playing Voices P-255 Owner’s Man u al 17 Using the T uning setting, yo u can fine tune the pitch of the entire instrument. This can be extremely useful when playing your digital piano along with other instruments or recorded music. T uning is set using Function parameter F1 .

P-255 Owner’s Man u al 19 Using the Metr onome Playing your digital piano along with the b uilt-in metron ome is a great way to perfect your tim ing. The follo wing describes how to use this function. 1 T urn on the metronome. Press the [METR ONOME] button and v erify that the metronome starts to play .

The follo w- ing describes ho w to use this function. 1 T urn on a rh ythm trac k. Press the [RHYTHM] button and v erify that a rhythm track starts to play .

These songs can be in one of two dif ferent formats—MIDI or audio. Song Category list *: Shown only when a USB flash dri v e ha s b een pl u gged into the instr u ment.

When playing this type of song, yo u can turn of f either of these parts as described belo w to practice playing it yourself.
Playing Song s P-255 Owner’s Man u al 24 A utomatic start when you play an y key Using your digital piano’ s Auto Start function, you can hav e it start play back as soon as you play a ke y . T o acti vate this function, press and hold the [PLA Y/ STOP] b utton for at least one second.

User Songs are kept in a folder named USER FILES on a USB flash dri ve; Import Songs are stored outside this folder .
