10 Blade Control Handle The blade control handle is loca ted on the upper handl e of the mow er. See Figur e 5 . The bla de contro l handle mus t be depres sed in orde r to start and ope rate the unit. Release the bl ade contr ol handle to s top the engine an d the blade.
11 Cutting Height Adjustment Lever (Model 960 T hru 969) The rear whee l cutting hei ght adj ustment lev er is lo cated abov e the left rea r wheel. To adj ust the cut ting hei ght, pull the lever out and away from the mower. Move it forward or bac kward to the desired cutti ng height.

Follow this order of action every time you cha rge the battery .
13 T o Stop Eng ine And Blade • Release the blade con trol handl e to stop the engine and the bl ade. WARN ING: The blade conti nues to r otate for a few sec onds after th e engin e is shut of f. Using Y our Rotary Mower Be su re that th e lawn is clear o f stones, stic ks, wire, o r other objects which co uld dam age the la wn mower or engi ne.

15 Shift Lever Cable Adjustment Periodi c adju stmen t of t he six-s peed s hift cab le m ay be require d due to nor mal wear on th e ca ble. Adj ustme nt is needed if all six spee ds do not work . The adjus table cab le bracket is located bes ide the engi ne on the le ft side of the mowe r.
16 Deck The unders ide of the mo wer deck shou ld be clean ed after each use to prev ent a build-up of gr ass clipp ings, leaves, dirt or other matter. If this debris is al lowed to acc umulat e, it will invite rust and co rrosion, and may prevent pr oper mulchin g, discha rge or bagg ing.
17 When shar pening the blade, fol low the orig inal angle of grind as a guide. It is extremely im porta nt that each cu tting edge rece ives an equ al amoun t of grindin g to prevent an unbalanc ed blade. An un balanced blade will c ause excess ive vib ration when rotating at hi gh speeds .
18 St ep 8. Usin g a 3/8 ” socket, remove thr ee hex screws ho lding the baffle to the deck . Step 9. Tilt t he trans mission for ward and loosen the idle r pulle y bolt and lo cknut 1/2 turn using t wo 7/16 ” wrenches. Step 10. Using a pair of pli ers, pull b ack and rotate belt keeper b racket from the s lot on id ler pul ley.
19 Step 13. Squeeze the bel t together and push belt forward. Press the control arm inw ard towards the dec k and remove the si x speed cable from the sl ot. Step 14. Place the new belt over th e transm ission pulley . Start th e belt in p ulley gro ove an d rotate p ulley un til belt i s seated in transm ission pulle y.
20 Step 23. Pinch b elt togethe r so that it is not in the pulley g roove, a nd the lowe r pulley can be pushed to wards the engine. Step 24 . Pivo t the contr ol arm back to i ts origi nal position and rein stall the six-spe ed cable into the s lot. Step 25 .
