Understanding Microwave Oven Safety T SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Microwave ovens have been thoroughly tested for safe and efficient operation. How- ever, as with any appliance, there are special installation and safety precautions which must be followed to ensure safe and satisfactory operation and prevent damage to the unit.

It is normal for the oven door to look wavy after the oven has been running for a while. Do not use newspaper or other printed paper in the oven.

Setting the clock When you first plug in your microwave oven, the Display flashes “88:88”. If the electric power ever goes off, the Display will again flash all 8’s when the power comes back on. Using the Minute Timer Your microwave oven can be used as a kitchen timer. Use the Minute Timer for timing up to 99 minutes, 99 seconds. NOTES: . To see the time of day while the Minute Timer is counting down, touch AUTO START/CLOCK.

Cooking at lower cook powers For best results, some recipes call for lower Cook Powers. The lower the Cook Power, the slower the cooking. Each Number Pad also stands for a different percentage of Cook Power. Many microwave cookbook recipes tell you by number, percent or name which Cook Power to use.

Using POPCORN POPCORN lets you pop commercially packaged microwave popcorn by touching just one pad.

Using FROZEN ENTREE FROZEN ENTREE lets you thaw and cook a frozen entree by touching just one pad. You do not need to calculate cooking time or Cook Power.
Using-BAKED POTATOES BAKED POTATOES lets you bake potatoes by touching just one pad. You do not need to calculate cooking time or Cook Power. NOTES: l Before using BAKED POTATOES, be sure the time of day is showing on the Display. If the time of day is not on the Display, touch OFF/CANCEL once or twice to remove the last program from the Display.
